  1. I'd have gone with a coordinating print. I wouldn't think the cotton would shrink any more.
  2. Look at the Mitsubishi Outlander. I love mine. I have the regular sized one, not the smaller "Sport" model. The reg sized one can have an optional jump seat that folds away.
  3. I've noticed people asking unreasonably high prices for used curriculum. I won't pay more than 60% or so for used. I've seen people asking 80-90%. For that price point, I'd expect pristine quality.
  4. Honestly, it sounds like it would be for the best. I know that's hard to hear.
  5. Proraps! I loved mine!! They lasted through CDing three kiddos and then I sold them for about 75% of their new price.
  6. That is a really good weight for that age! Hopefully, that's a good omen. :grouphug:
  7. I started my first cycle the summer I turned 11. My own daughter is almost 12 and our pediatrician says we have a little while to go. Thank God!
  8. I agree that it's a huge problem. I regularly work post-partum, where I care for mothers who had a "primary c/s for failure to progress @ 1745". Translation: Doc has plans and he's not coming back to the hospital to deliver this baby. Cut it out, get paid, go home. Virtually none of these women actually need a c/s. They need to stop trying to induce a baby that's too early or a cervix that's too high/thick/closed. They need to labor and let their bodies take the time they need to actually do the work. It's work I wish I'd had an opportunity to do, but that wasn't the fate that I received. My fate was to be in the 10% of truly, absolutely life-saving for mother and baby c/s. I have no guilt about needing emergency life-saving surgery. I have a ton of mom guilt for not being well enough to carry to term.
  9. How exactly do you use it? It seems ... random? Is there a way to assign yourself or your child a lesson?
  10. I'm a terrible preggo. I developed full blown HELLP syndrome with my first and severe pre-eclampsia with my 2nd and 3rd. Everyone was preterm by emergency c/s. The first was under GA. 2 & 3 were epidurals. 100 years ago, my oldest child would certainly have died. I probably would have died as well. For me, medical intervention was an absolute necessity.
  11. I love my Mitsubishi Outlander. I have the regular sized one, not the new "Sport" one they also sell. The standard model may also be equipped with a 3rd row seat that flips down. It's not big or very well padded, but it is a couple extra seats in a pinch. With it folded down, there's a good amount of cargo room.
  12. Wi-fi at home just means that your cable modem connects to a router that also broadcasts a wireless signal. You'll look like this: Cable Modem -> Router -> PC. So the cable that currently comes into your house and connects to your cable modem will stay there. Then, you'll have an ethernet (wide phone-looking cable) from the modem to the router. From the router, you'll have another ethernet cable to your PC. The router will have a password. Most of them are on the sticker on the bottom or you can change it to a new one. The router will put out a wireless signal that your wireless devices (laptop, smartphone, tablet, etc) will see. To connect, you'll enter the password and click connect. This wireless connection can only be used in range of your wireless router.
  13. I read your blog post. That was insightful. I want to be Haymitch! I'm terrible about flying off the handle. :(
  14. Cool! Thanks. Now, people with persistently high insulin levels, insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome are even more intolerant of carbohydrate? Meaning they'll have a difficult time cycling in and out of ketosis as needed on higher carb levels, without triggering hunger and carb cravings?
  15. Medicine cabinet staples around here include benadryl, motrin, tylenol & an expectorant. I'd call if her eye is swollen/draining.
  16. Ok. I just finished "Why We Get Fat". That was a mind-blowing wake-up call! I have a question for anyone with personal experience. The last time I tried to Atkins, I could stay in ketosis around 60g of carbs per day. Surely, this bodes well for my chances of not being terribly insulin resistant/metabolic syndrome? I am starting again and am already down nearly 5 pounds with today being day 5. I know this is water though.
