  1. Alabama has missed out on some large corporations building new operations in our state due to several factors, including infant mortality rates, teen pregnancy rates and childhood disease rates. I agree that the registries are draconian and not the right response, but the state is trying to move the overall outlook of a child born in Alabama forward. In a bassackward kind of way. ;)
  2. There's a 60 day money back guarantee. I have only seen half of session 1 and the teacher material for session 1, but it looks very well done. My kids are just starting it. I've heard others comment that the piano teacher is very good, but a little pompous sounding.
  3. What's wrong with a little CCR or Stevie Ray Vaughn? Around here, we listen to everything. And I mean everything: the whole Disney Radio bunch, metal bands including OzzyandAC/DC, classic and modern rock, country from the 80s to current, contemporary Christian, Christian rock/metal. About the only thing we don't really listen to is rap.
  4. A lot of hospitals are resorting to a pre-operative MRSA screening in self-defense. Insurers and Medicaid/Medicare are refusing to pay for care of conditions the patient acquired while hospitalized. The hospitals resort to using an MRSA screening (a swab from your nares, groin or axilla) to prove that the MRSA you were infected with is what you brought with you. And don't shake hand with the doctor. I've rarely seen one of them wash their hands when coming out of a patient's room.
  5. Honestly, she may have been colonized with MRSA prior to hospitalization. We've seen a huge upswing in community-acquired MRSA in recent years. And to /agree with Jennifer above: MRSA is everywhere. In every hospital, MD office and LTC facility. It's also in our communities. It's no longer an exclusively hospital-acquired infection. Medicare's website should be helpful.
  6. They charge the full regular price admission ticket to the credit card you gave when you bought your tickets through the education program.
  7. I've heard they're cracking down on "missing class" due to abuse by people who never had any intention of making it to the class. Classes fill up and people who wanted to attend can't.
  8. For three children, supplies and uniforms would run me about $750. That would include new shoes.
  9. There aren't always good discount codes. Peak travel times can be a lot more expensive than $2500/7days.
  10. One class is included in your ticket prices. You have to pay an extra $29 for each extra class you want to attend. With all WDW party tickets, you can enter the park at 4pm. 4pm-midnight is long enough to see most of the "must-sees" and enjoy some party effects, like HalloWishes.
  11. :iagree: Unless you want to be patient and wait for a fully-featured Android tablet to be released, but they'll cost just as much as an iPad.
  12. Definitely amend the prior year's returns. That money is rightfully yours!
  13. As an alternative treatment for ADHD. Many people do not wish to medicate their child with powerful stimulant drugs. Caffeine is a very mild alternative for kids who respond well to it.
  14. It's a bundle. You can get the different series: Light Blue, Blue, Green, Gold or different combos thereof.
  15. I've never had a problem. It's true that Andoid is open source, just like Linux. However, much like Apple, viruses written to affect Windows machines will not affect a Linux-based OS. Andoird is built on a Linux kernel. There are phone OS specific viruses, both for Android and iPhone. Sorry, Apple doesn't have any special, magic protection from viruses. Both Google and Apple are proactive about removing malware from their markets. However, opening email, browsing to websites, etc. can all lead to infection should a virus be propagating in the "cloud". That's true for all of the phone OSes on the market.
  16. My speed test worked out pretty nicely! I haven't checked it since we've been on DSL. I don't think you can stream with Hughes since there's a pretty restrictive data cap.
  17. Android is just now entering the tablet foray. There are a number of upcoming tablets that will truly be competitive with the iPad, considering that Android Honeycomb, designed for 10+ inch tablets, has just now been released by Google. Now, the manufacturers have to apply it to their hardware and add any software accelerations and overlays and custom UIs that they may desire to include to "enhance" the Android experience for their customers. (Personally, I think plain "vanilla" Android is great and usually root my devices to install a vanilla Android.) Android Gingerbread (Android 2.3) is also now available and can be used on smartphones and small tablet devices up to about 7in. If you want an Android tablet, look for these specs: Capacitive touchscreen - so that you can touch with your fingers instead of a stylus/fingernail Android 2.3 or 3.0 (Gingerbread or Honeycomb) Flash 10.1 support Google "experience" support - Android Market, Google Calendar, Gmail, etc After that, the hardware specs are truly a matter of preference and desired functionality. The Cortex A8 processors will run Flash. RAM and storage size are also a personal preference and functionality spec. My Droid X has 512mb of RAM and I find that sufficient for my uses. I have never tried to stream a movie though. I have watched YouTube videos and streamed Pandora internet radio.
  18. We say at our house "Fart jokes are funny" because no one, including my husband has "grown out of it". I gave up. Good luck, though.
  19. I call it my et light. You can use the adult/pedi one on a bigger baby, but the band-aid light is the best.
  20. Call your ob. They may want a quick u/s to make sure you didn't tear the umbilical cord. If the amniotic sac and your mucus plug are intact, but the cord or the placenta ruptured, you and baby can bleed into your uterus without your knowledge until it's a LOT of blood. It's certainly a rare complication, but can happen.
  21. You can roll your chicken in parmesan cheese instead of the bread crumbs for those adhering to a very low-carb diet.
