People do die here waiting for care or for beds to open up so they can get treatment. If it isn't life threatening it can be months sometimes years, waiting in pain. It isn't all sunshine and rainbows here. Our medical plan through our employer when we lived in the US was far superior than the one we had here in Canada, if you are lucky enough to have an employer who can offer you one. Every province is different in what they will cover. I have a cousin who has type 1 diabetes. New Brunswick doesn't cover supplies in the same way that Nova Scotia does and even at that it is limited. He pays over 20,000 out of pocket because insurance plans won't cover him because it is a pre existing condition. In Manitoba, supplies for type 1 diabetics are covered until they are 16, then it is OOP. If you do have a medical plan with an employer, there are limits what they will cover. For speech therapy, our plan covered $500/a calendar year/per person here in Canada. I have two kids in speech. That means it covers two months and then we are the hook for the rest. In the US it was covered at 80% and no limits. Testing for LD's, OOP here in Canada. Huge waiting lists for mental health services. Don't want to wait, OOP for a private psychologist. I had a family member wait months for a psychiatrist. Two year wait for a dermatologist, if your GP will refer you. I don't know, personally I liked our insurance plan that we had in the US, compared to what we have in Canada.

Maybe textneighbour's husband suspects something is going on and is doing an end play around the wife and going with her for a family holiday.

well the family member who is hosting(it's a house warming) is 8 months pregnant with her 5th child, all under the age of 8. She just moved into a new home and is still unpacking. She doesn't want to run the risk of having something else to deal with. If it were my kids with lice I would probably just stay home.

If you were having a large family gathering and one of the family members found out two days before the gathering that her children had lice, would you expect the family member with lice to stay home? Said family member is treating it so would it be safe for the family member to bring her children?

There is a reason why landlords don't want to rent to people with pets. They damage property if the pet owner isn't responsible. When we were looking for rentals the houses that had pets, mainly dogs, stank of urine. It's disgusting. I do have a cat and our landlord didn't want to rent to us. We agreed to a substantial pet deposit. As a pet owner myself there is no way I would want to rent to people with pets. I would be too afraid of getting an irresponsible pet owner. If I did it would only be for a single, spayed female cat. No dogs at all and certainly not male animals.

We use green tea. I flavour mine with chopped ginger. I make it for my husband and one son. I cant stand the stuff.

My grandmother used to drown the kittens. Put them in a nylon stocking in a bucket of water with a lid on top. I remember digging in the garden and dug them up once when i was kid.

I guess I am a bad pet owner. We told the kids that if we get a pet, in our case 2 cats, that there would be no expensive medical intervention for whatever the problem was, no matter how treatable. They would be put down. The cat we did put down was because DH was not interested in an on going medical expense, which was the prozac. We were willing to cut our losses on the couch that he sprayed on all the time but when he started spraying all over the house that was it. The resale value of the home would be effected. An animal in my opinion isn't worth that. Growing up no one put crazy amounts money into the pets. we just had cats. They were lucky to even have an annual check up.

probably not a popular opinion, but we put our cat down for less. he was spraying or peeing everywhere even though he was fixed. the vet suggested prozac because he wasn't ill. Nor did I have the time or energy to deal with an animals behaviour and try to fix it. I had young children and they needed my time more than the cat. We were sad to put him down but I was not going to rearrange our life to suit an animal. My time and energy are limited and people take priority. We still have his sister and she will probably be with us until she dies.

I do. I take my stuff to once upon a child. What they don't take I leave with them to donate to charity. What I get for the clothes varies. They also take non clothes items too.

I don't consider bloody a swear, but my welsh inlaws do. My mil is always getting after my fil for saying bloody. I think it is too funny.

So a homeschooling organization in my area is offering this for the teen portion of the annual conference. It is a dvd series. Here are some of the speakers. I know who the first and last ones are. Haven't heard of the others. Faculty of seven leading businessmen, mentors and education experts (Kevin Swanson, Gary Powers, Woody Robertson, Steve Riddell, Dave Tucker, Erik Weir and Geoffrey Botkin).

I bought the because they had good arch support. Went home and checked them out online and I guess they retail for 80 bucks on his site(Tony Little). I know he was or maybe still is a fitness guru at one time. Apparently they are supposed to help exercise my calf etc. Lol. I never heard of them either. They are comfortable enough.

Anyone own these sandals? pros/cons? i picked them up at a thrift store because i wanted something to support my arch. apparently they are Tony Little exercise sandals which I never heard of. Just wondering if anyone else has.

I guess I'm not a good pet owner. There is no way I would spend thousands of dollars on a pet. I love my cat but if she needed that level of care, she would be put down. I'm not putting my family into financial hardship for a pet. Nor do I think people should have thousands in reserve to care for a pet or to sell things off or go into debt to afford expensive care to be considered a good pet owner. I guess it comes down to me not giving my pets the same status in the family as a human. They are not equal.

What kind of covenant? A covenant is a contractual agreement where both parties agree to something. What are the animals supposed to do on their end to not break covenant?

I don't think it was a big deal however if it was Harper that behaved that way, the media would be all over it. I am more annoyed at the media bias. I think Trudeau gets a free pass where as Harper wouldn't.
