  1. Dangerously delicious https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/sesame-feta-with-broccolini
  2. We loved Cinque Terre!! And hiked the NP that travels from village to village. It was more strenuous than we thought it would be! But it was very hot and we hiked through 4 in one day. Our favorite village, and where we stayed, was Vernazza. But they are all charming.
  3. Do the kennels not require the vaxx? Around me they do. How is it spreading if they’re all vaxxed??
  4. I thought of Portugal immediately as well. We went late April and weather was exquisite. I’m not gonna lie. It was crowded. Porto (didn’t really like) was insanely so. Lisbon a little bit better. We spent a week driving around the country as well and that was just amazingly beautiful. If you can get over renting a car that would be my recommendation. Another option is the Alentejo region (wine country) It’s lovely and there’s a huge man made lake there. You could spend a couple of days in Lisbon and train to Evora (30 min?) and stay in that area. Then maybe go just a little beyond that (Uber?) to the lake. We stayed at a beautiful resort in Reguengos de Monsaraz. The people of Portugal are the nicest I’ve ever met. I’d love to return. The areas outside the cities weren’t crowded.
  5. Honestly I have no idea how it works. Immunity passed from the mother?? But no, the dog has never had any illnesses. And she never boards her so there’s no requirement to get them. We just adopted a 15 mo puppy who’s fully immunized so far but I’m awaiting more info from my SIL as we may be interested in this path in the future.
  6. My SIL gets titers for everything except rabies. Her dog is 5 and hasn’t needed any vaxxes yet.
  7. My daughter had a $50/week food allowance when she lived off campus. We gave her a cc to use. Anything over that she paid for, but $50 covered most everything.
  8. I can and do pump my own gas, as do dh and dc. But it’s quite lovely whenever we travel south and get to stop in Jersey to fill up 😊
  9. City - Boston , NYC, Chicago National parks
  10. Those of you who are saying it’s possible that it was an animal - the relative she was on the phone with heard her speak to someone, asking if they were okay. So if she’s telling the truth, it had to have been a human.
  11. It almost sounds like a set up/trap. Put a toddler out til some unsuspecting female stops to check it out. Horrible. I hope they find them.
  12. I believe my dd owes about $15k. She’s going for her master’s (fully funded) so won’t have to start paying for two years. Son owes about the same. He put a lot more money towards tuition than dd though because he worked and saved more prior.
  13. They don’t on MedPage. I bookmarked some research after initially reading that but haven’t gone back to read in detail. Here’s a recent article with some comments that discuss the new drug. https://www.medpagetoday.com/neurology/alzheimersdisease/105364?xid=nl_mpt_morningbreak2023-07-07&eun=g2149620d0r&utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBreak_070723&utm_term=NL_Gen_Int_Daily_News_Update_active
  14. I read Medpage today and also enjoy reading the doctor’s comments on the articles. They don’t seem impressed. Several on there are always recommending Centrum Silver vitamins. Supposedly they work pretty well for Alzheimer’s in both slowing progression and reversing some of the effects.
  15. Monikers is a great game for larger groups because it’s team-based. Reverse Charades also a lot of fun.
  16. We buy salmon fillets by the bagful and throw them in the air fryer or convection oven with a little spray olive oil and Trader Joe’s everything bagel seasoning on them. You don’t even have to defrost. I’m addicted to this at the moment. I pair it with some sautéed riced cauliflower (with or without veggies) and a salad with whatever is in my fridge. I also like sautéed onions and mushrooms with fresh thyme and pepper served over a turkey burger (no roll). Chicken breasts or thighs sliced and stir fried with all kinds of veggies is another healthy go-to.
  17. My plan for next week: Mon: B-orange pecan oatmeal, L-mushroom soup, D-pork butt, cole slaw, veg Tue: B-yogurt & fruit, L-chef salad, D-peanut stew Wed: B-smoothie, L-hummus/veg sandwich, D-chicken cabbage salad Thur: B-apple & almond butter, L-zucchini slaw, D-chorizo egg dinner Fri: B-sweet potato toast & guac, L-salad w/chicken, D-swordfish, spinach, zucc Sat (only plan dinners on weekends) chicken Parisienne, artichokes & peas Sun: steak pizzaiola, potato salad, veg
  18. For me personally I wouldn’t unless the vomiting lasted several days and/or he became hydrated. My ds presented just like that with Covid but only vomited day 1. He slept most of day 2 and then was fine.
  19. Most of the time drinks, heavy apps (hot and cold) and a dessert.
  20. I would love to see The Cure!! So glad they’re still sounding great.
  21. Yes my kids got like 1200 on their SATs but 31 and 32 on their ACTs.
  22. I made this salad for lunch today https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/238182/quinoa-asparagus-and-feta-salad/ I totally forgot the feta, but it was still delicious. But the feta would’ve made it even better.
