  1. I noticed with my second child, all of the pets drove me nuts right before I went into labor. They were always underfoot- much different then their normal behavior. I've started to notice it again with this one. New pets since the last time but they are definitely clingier then normal- especially the female animals. They follow me around, sleep right next to me and generally get upset if I leave the room and they can't come with me. Anyone else notice similar behavior in their animals?
  2. We've been trying this for awhile now using a yogurt maker. Problem is it always turns out runny. Any tips?
  3. I am 37 weeks and 3 days and so ready to be done! I've been on modified bed rest since November due to constant contractions! Now that I can safely have this little guy, no baby! This is our first boy and he is going to be name Zachary Nathan! Things are as ready as they can be! My last appt was on Thursday and I was at 1 cm dilated. Friday morning I woke up to contractions every 3 minutes apart that lasted for 5 hours and then they stopped. I'm hoping they did something and I'll be farther along at this weeks appt! I have a 8 and 6 yr old at home with me. They are wonderful girls and so well behaved and sweet- they are putting up with a very irritable and emotional mommy! I think I've spent half the day crying for no reason other then hormones and the other half trying very hard not to bite their heads off. I
  4. If possible, try to get one bigger then what you think you need! It seems like chickens are like potato chips- you can't stop at just one! :D
  5. Thanks for the input! We will give it a few more days and see what she does! No worries about snake bites here- we woke up to a nice brisk 15 degrees this morning! :D
  6. We need some advice from those of you with more animal experience!!!! We have an 80 lb coon dog. We got home from small group Friday night, we noticed she was limping on her front paw. That same foot was slightly swollen up near the ankle. We do not know of anything that could have caused the injuries. We do walk her often and it has been muddy here so it is possible she could have tweaked it somehow on a walk. The vet was closed over the weekend so we've been letting her rest it as much as possible. Today it seems slightly better- not as much limping and the swelling has gone done some. She still favors the foot- especially when she first gets up from lying for awhile. Do you think we should take her in to the vet tomorrow or give it a few more days?
  7. It's fun to hear how others have started labor! I'm due March 22 so I'm officially full term today!!!!! I've been on modified bedrest due to CONSTANT braxton-hicks contractions since November. As of today, I can do what I want to! I've already had a walk and scrubbed one bathroom. As of a few days ago I was at 1 cm and I woke up this morning to having mild contractions every few minutes- this could go on for the next several weeks though. Hubby is going to be one happy man tonight (and for the next several nights!) After weeks of not doing anything, I miss the guy! ;) I'm not ready to try any of the last resorts- we have a few weeks still for that! I am ready to get back into walking, cleaning and enjoying my hubby!
  8. I know he is going to come when he is good and ready! I still like to feel like I'm doing something to help move things along, so, tell me all the wonderful ways of starting labor...
  9. I see my hairdresser next week and was planning on asking her! I'm glad to know I'm not totally crazy though! I hope it stays red- I really like the color! I don't think it is a protein deficiency- I've been craving red meat like crazy and have been eating more then I ever have. If it isn't red meat, it is lots of other proteins!
  10. I've always been a dirty blond. However, this pregnancy my hair is turning red- I mean RED- and each week it gets redder. My roots are still on the darker side but definitely lighter/redder then normal. Then ends are no doubt RED! I've asked several medical professionals and they think I'm nuts and think the pregnancy has nothing to do with it. I've changed nothing in the last year other then getting pregnant. We now live on well water and it does cause rust stains to the tubs/toilets. We've lived here for over a year and this just started happening in December. I'm the only one with hair changing colors though and that includes my blonde daughter. Any else have their hair change color when pregnant?
  11. Just had that happen to us in July! We are waiting for our first boy to join us! I must say that hubby handled it much better then I did. I took the test and then just called him into the bathroom and said he had to see something. I was sitting and crying! He hugged me, reassured me and let me just cry. He is excited about welcoming our newest member! I'm having the harder time with adjusting our plans! Good thing God know better than us!
  12. I'm right there with you! We have 10 weeks until due date but both of my girls came before due date- one 3 weeks before! EEEKKK!!!! I've done next to nothing- I'm so tired and just not motivated! To top it off, Dr. just put me on modified bedrest! Right now the crib is set up in the room and everything is just dumped in there! Some wonderful friends of mine are blessing me with a baby shower since this is my first boy and we thought we were done (God sure does have a sense of humor) so we didn't keep any baby stuff either! I keep telling myself that I will worry about the rest of the details after the shower! Hopefully I have enough time!
  13. Thanks for the feedback. Hubby and I talked and decided on appropriate consequences for her behavior and had a long chat with her!
  14. Eldest daughter (8 yrs old) got in a fight with another child today. She was not completely at fault but she did make several poor decisions including not respecting someone else's toys, starting the physical fight and biting the other child. To top it off, she then tried to lie to me about the situation. Sigh... I need something that fits the crime but also makes an impact. My first idea is grounding for the week. She would miss several fun activities because of it. Not quite sure if that would have a lasting impact though.
  15. Thanks for the ideas on where to donate them! Those are helpful! On a side note, how do I get the instant email notifications. I thought I set up my settings to do that and yet I'm still not getting emails!
  16. My mom has several boxes of McDonald's toys still in their packaging. I know I can sell them- just not sure the best way to go about that. Is it worth effort of selling them? Any other ideas on what to do with the toys?
  17. Hubby and I talked. We are going to go on and get the convention pass and then play it by ear. We'll see what is acutally going on and how I feel and go from there. We will probably just go up for Friday but we have some flexibility and if we don't make it, there is always next year!
  18. We are expecting a little boy the end of March! With my girls, I was early with both them- one was barely full term. We are also about an hour away from the Cincy convention and the hosptial. With the dates, I will either have a new born or be about a week past my due date during the convention. I really want to go to the convention- at least look at booths but at the same time, am I asking for trouble? Hubby will be with me so if I need to rest or get to the hospital, I'll have someone there. My thought was to go up Thursday night and spend that night and Friday there and then come home. Or, just go up Friday and come home Friday night.
  19. NOT a condom! LOL! We both were done having kids but hubby didn't want to get a V- said he wasn't ready for it. I agreed to wait until he was on board and we used condoms. Baby #3 is coming in March! And, yes, we did use them EVERY time the month we conceived!
  20. My daughter would love a Narnia birthday cake. I need something VERY easy to do! HELP!
  21. Allergy shots? I had horrible allergies and constant sinus infections from them. After several years of allergy shots, the allergies are manageable and infections are rare!
  22. I hopped on this morning to see how your appt went yesterday! What wonderful news!!!! We'll keep praying!
  23. Thanks for the tips! We'll be trying some of them when the next storm comes through!
  24. We recently adopted a dog. She is the sweetest most well trained dog ever! She is terrified of thunder and gun shots (we live in the country!). She doesn't bark or whine- she just clings to you and trembles. I know she is terrified and I feel so bad for her, especially if we are not home and it is storming. I've tried giving her generic Benadryl pills and they don't seem to help. She weighs about 80 lbs so I've given her 3 pills (75 mg). Is my dosage wrong? Am I buying the wrong thing? Is there something else I can do to help her? Thanks for the ideas!
