  1. These look great. Thank you!
  2. Hi everyone! This is my official first post, although I have been lurking and learning so much from all of you! We have been homeschooling for 2 years (kindergarten and 1st grade). DD7 has asked to do a unit this summer on aerodynamics or in his words, "I want to learn how airplanes fly." I am having some problems finding resources to use for his age. Thanks! Michelle
  3. I am sorry to hear about your uncle. I agree with everyone else, cancer sucks. When my mom was diagnosed I didn't live close by and couldn't be there for the day to day. I sent her a card weekly with a picture of the kids or a drawing they did. I also tried to mail the card on the same day every week. She told me later that this was the high point of her week. She would know what day that card was coming and it gave her something to look forward to. If you are close, support for the caregiver is wonderful: House cleanings, meals, running errands (even some time off so they can get out of the house to run errands). Good luck to you and your family.
  4. Check out Dehesa Charter School. They have a program called ACE (Academy of Classical Education) in Irvine. We have not participated but were signed up for 1st grade, then moved out of Orange County. Good luck! Michelle Bailey
  5. We are also doing a dinosaur unit over the summer. http://www.fossilfind.com They have dinosaurs and other fossils buried in a hard sand. Looks very cool and I plan on ordering. Michelle Homeschooling ds 6 and 4
  6. This is my first year homeschooling, but we are planning on reading, writing and math. We are also doing a unit study on dinosaurs (picked by the kids). They are really looking forward to it and cannot wait for summer school to start. Michelle Homeschooling 2 great boys ages 6 and 3
