I can walk over to the counter where my planner always is and scribble down Dr. appointment Tues at 9 am in the time it takes me to grab my phone, log in, find the right app and key in the info. There's also an overly simplified mindset that two things can't be true at the same time and a kind of flattening of nuance. It can be horrific that Jewish settlers were murdered, raped, and kidnapped. And ALSO horrific that civilians are dying in Gaza. We don't have to pick a side of which one is worse. They're both awful.

I'm moving all day long. I generally walk 7-8 miles a day, doing lots of lifting and carrying. So, no I don't really warm up. And I'm not necessarily doing heavy lifting. I'm just trying to keep from losing muscle mass. Just basic dumbells.

I don’t generally have time for one 40 minute long weights session so I break it up into smaller sessions of 10 minutes throughout the day. Am I getting the same benefit by doing this?

I was gonna say this. Hard sweaty physical labor doesn't cure everything but it does kind of help knock off the rough edges. They do have tons of energy at that age, their bodies are growing so fast, things that wouldn't damage or hurt anything can be terrible with the getting close to adult sized bodies. My ds15 is in Tae Kwon Do, he started at 11. I really feel that kids in that age range just need places where they can kick and punch and run around like crazy people.

Knowing some of the not so nice stuff actually encourages me. Because sometimes, I'm terrible. So there's hope that the people I leave behind will remember the good and not only the bad. Of course, I guess they could just zoom in on the awful moments, but what can I do about that?

My friend had a pair of channel locks on her washer knob spindle for years to start the washer. But you can probably just do this with a pair of pliers. At least you can figure out if the knob is the problem and not something else.

I wonder if one thing you are running into with people is that the idea they have of themselves is not the same as their reality. I mean, yeah someone can say that they want to be exclusive, and they really want the perks that come with that, but they don't necessarily want the responsibility of that kind of thing. I tell my kids that people can't be more honest with you than they are with themselves. So I don't know that I'd look at this kind of stuff as lying per se. It's just that they think they know what they want and who they are but in reality, they don't necessarily or they haven't thought it through completely yet.

My dryer gets annoying when it gets clogged (takes forever to dry, spills lint everywhere) I poke around the vent and disconnect it and unclog everything. Even with cleaning the lint trap regularly, lint gets everywhere.
