  1. What a jerk! Hope your family stays well.
  2. New years day meal always consists of black eyed peas, turnip greens and hog jowl. For luck, money and health. Never do laundry on the first. Means you will wash someone out of your life.
  3. pizza wings rotel or salsa chips cheese sticks - breaded fried kind mini corn dogs 7 layer dip chicken strips cocktail weenies nachoes No don't fix all this. This is just some things we have done in the past. I usually ask what party foods everyone wants and fix it.
  4. Moms - we open 1 gift at a time. MIL's - youngest starts. Opens all his gifts then next opens all their gifts. Mil is oldest so she opens last.
  5. I say.... Merry Christmas.... I am not going to get offended if you tell me Happy Holidays. Nor will I be offended if you say nothing when I wish you a Merry Christmas. I think wishing each other to be merry or happy is never a bad thing.
  6. Home Alone 1 & 2 just about the whole movies.
  7. Saw some at Cracker Barrel the other day. Also at Walmart near the hot chocolate, chocolate syrup etc.
  8. Christmas time -- my grandmothers Christmas cookie -- sausage balls Our schedule and meals change each year but got to have those 2 things at some point during Christmas. Do more appetizers/party foods instead of full meals. New Years Day must have - turnip greens, black eyed peas, hog jowl & cornbread. Usually have cabbage and mac & cheese too.

It is old so I have to put the branches on one by one and then string the lights. colored lights -- lots of them -- must have color solid lights - not blinking angel on top -- white gown with gold trim and gold wings lots of ornaments no theme I love our tree and it makes me feel relaxed sitting and looking at it. We put it up around Thanksgiving. Either the day before or day after. It comes down New Year's Eve before midnight.
  10. hot wheel of favorite type of vehicle dice game -- deer tracks or something like that duct tape para cord bracelet chapstick one of those round coca cola favorite candy beef jerky earbuds travel size body wash knife Nerf darts air soft bb's flashlight cheese in a can find a word puzzle book playing cards or card game - uno flavored popcorn salt duck call small tools arrow tips flavored drink packets wallet baseball cards twine -- he asked for it flint stick old timey toys (wooden games or the ones where you put the magnetic shavings on the bald guys head etc.) This is some of the things I have put in my guys stockings over the years. Some get repeated each year, some are a one time thing.
  11. Honest I don't know. Somebody told me makes Italian beef but the only thing she does is put the roast in crock pot, open a jar of pepperonconi and dump it in (peppers & juice). Cook on low 8-10 hours.
  12. Geez that is hard. I am giving a lot of food gifts this year. I was teasing with dh and said I was doing all my shopping at the grocery and liquor store this year :laugh:. Hey it is what they like and I know it will get used.
  13. Italian Beef Sandwiches roast 1 packet au ju (dry) 1 packet Italian dressing mix (dry) 1 can beef broth Crock pot on low 8-10 hours. Slice and serve on buns with provolone cheese

  15. Bake with little salt & pepper. When done remove foil, pour on BBQ sauce of choice. Broil a few more minutes.
  16. Gift card attached to a big bar of chocolate or some other favorite snack is what I do when in doubt
  17. Family had leftover soup & cornbread. I have had stomach virus type symptoms so had some plain noodles.
  18. Bread -- white or wheat Center--1.5-2 slices American cheese & dill pickle slices Lightly butter outside of sandwich & toast.

  20. I asked my parents what they wanted. They said world peace. I like that idea but it doesn't help me shop for them. Dh & I don't exchange gifts due to lack of money but our DC like to give us gifts. So I will mention a few inexpensive wants/needs and dh will take the kids shopping. And of course when the kids and I are out we buy dh something.
