  1. Thank you for the heads up! I registered today. :)
  2. Archer's Goon by Dianna Wynne Jones (I think I have the author's name spelled correctly.) These are in a totally different veins, but I just came across The Extraordinary Adventures of Ordinary Boy by William Boniface, and the One Hundred Cupboards Series by N.D. Wilson. The Cupboards trilogy might need to wait a couple of years, but the three about Ordinary Boy might be enjoyed right away.
  3. It sounds like the most useful updates in the newer ones are in the logic sections (which will not apply to us for 4-5 years), so I will probably haunt e-bay or the sale board until an inexpensive '99 edition surfaces. They're usually cheaper, too. :) I really appreciate your time and input!
  4. We're new in the homeschooling arena. Our oldest dd is just getting ready for K. I've started ordering books from here and there. I think I know at least the direction we're heading for the next year or so. I got WTM (99 ed.) from the library to read through/discuss/decide on more long term strategy/direction. I'm partway through the logic stage section at present. The book seems very practical in the way that it breaks down all the recommended steps. Obviously, no one will follow the recipe precisely, but the list of resources looks helpful. I don't want to buy an updated edition, though, if it turns into an unbearably long ad for all the books she's written since and a detailed description of when to use them. Does anyone have first-hand experience with multiple versions of this book? Which one do you recommend most highly? Which one(s) would you skip? Why? Are there any other resources in the same vein that you would recommend? (If you like ___, be sure to check out ___. :) ) Douglas Wilson? Someone I've never heard of? Much of this is new to me. Thanks!
