  1. Like so many of you, I am looking at SOTW and MOH and wondered if there's a way to combine the two? Perhaps, picking the best chapters from each to do? Thanks! -Melissa
  2. I'd start now. Like it was said earlier, the 3yo can enjoy the stories and maybe a coloring page. But also if you are doing history in a 4year cycle, she can then jump in formally at whatever stage of history you are doing in that year. Have fun! -Melissa
  3. Wow, so simple yet effective! I love the idea! =) Thanks for sharing Jen...
  4. I'm starting SOTW 2 in the Fall and I want to do a timeline. I've heard of a bound timeline with dates and pictures to color on each page, everything in order. I've heard of vertical timelines (floor to ceiling) where add in the dates and bubbles or thumbnail pics every so often, or the wrap around the room timelines where you add the dates, etc. Any recommendations? And where can I find these great resources? I've searched Amazon and our local teaching supply store... Help?
  5. so then does the FLL also have a text and workbooks? Do you recommend both or will the workbooks suffice here as well...?
  6. Thanks, ladies... But how does the First Language Lessons fit in with the WWE workbook?
  7. I'm starting home schooling with my 2nd & 4th grade kids next year and am gathering our curriculum. In looking at WWE/Complete Writer, I'm confused. On Amazon it consistently groups three books together, yet the "workbook" pages refer to a student book that I don't see in the trio offered. How do these books work together and what am I supposed to need to teach my kids? -First Language Lessons -First Language Lessons Student Workbook -the work book for Writing With Ease -The Complete Writer Fundamentals (the teachers text?)
  8. Has anybody looked into Mystery of History? I'd heard good things from two ladies, but would love more info if anybody here has tried it... Especially as compared to Biblioplan... Thanks!
  9. I had totally forgotten the Google had the "Books" available. Thanks for this posting. I didn't need the speller info, but now you just pointed out to me a new location for free material! Ha...Love it! Thank you!
  10. Strider, or Anybody? - I'll be starting Foreign Language in the Fall...and after reading this forum, decided to focus on Spanish first. But reading Strider's comments about her DS, I want to include Latin root words and how it relates to English, to keep exposure to it until we can start it in a year or two. Any thoughts about this? Where can I get the info just on the root words, etc. without having to swim through a whole curriculum of Latin?
