  1. I have not read all of the responses, but what about the fact that it is on private property. Do the property owners not have any rights to say what can and can not be done on their own property? I breastfeed dd, but I always made sure to go to a more secluded area when I was in public. I think there can be a happy medium where nursing mothers respect those around them also. My dh would have been very uncomfortable to have me nursing where the whole world could see.
  2. 3. DH and I both live within 45 minutes of where we grew up. My family all lives within an hour of the house we grew up in and where my parents still live. His family on the other hand has all moved halfway across the country.
  4. I've been looking at freezers and I can not reach the bottom of a chest freezer without my feet leaving the floor. I'm going with an upright, because as I get older, I'm not sure I'll be able to bend over to get stuff out of a chest freezer. Just another thing to consider, I guess.
  5. I don't know what it was, but it put a leak in the water pump. It was just 2 months out of warranty and Maytag covered the whole thing, Lord bless them. I now am fanatical about checking pockets because I don't want to pay for it next time (the part alone is $100). Oh, I only have a 9yo dd and dh, who cleans out his pockets, so it is not only a boy thing.
  6. If you do decide to get the PayPal account, what I do is I have a credit card with a low limit that I only use online and I only buy stuff online with that card. This way it limits my credit card exposure and it is much easier to keep track of, esp. with a lower limit, if the info does get stolen, they can not do a lot of damage. I have had a paypal account for years, and I'm sure I never gave them my bank info.
  7. The only time I have driven automatic was in driver's ed and when we have a rental. I hate automatic, with a passion. We searched long and hard to find a stick shift for our most recent car purchase, most of what is available is only 4 cyl. and we wanted something with more power. High end sports cars will probably always be available in stick, so I told dh that is what he is going to have get me for our next car :D
  8. The one with McCain and Obama made me LOL. "Support your favorite boob" HA!:lol::lol::lol:
  9. I had this last week. I was down for 4 days, sleeping most of the time. My fever hit 104 at one point and I was so achy. I'm still coughing and my voice is still hoarse.
  10. I don't like these letters either. My niece sent one out last summer and it was very obvious that she did not write the letter. If you are going to ask me for money, at least write me a personal note in your own words.
  11. my DD9 had one between her eyes and one on the back of her neck. You can't see the one on her face anymore, but if she is hot and sweaty, the one on the back of her neck shows faintly, just like DH's.
  12. My bil was having everyone smell his new cologne on Christmas day, Nautica. DD9 asked "Do you mean nausea?":lol: Edited to add: DD and her uncle get along very well (he is her favorite, just tell any of the others:tongue_smilie:) and are constantly teasing each other. Everyone laughed and for once bil was speechless. DD didn't realize until later why it was funny.:D
  13. my 9yo dd is in a high backed booster, though she is getting close to being too tall for it. We were in a crash last year, and the paramedics were relieved to hear her say she was in a booster. They told her that was good, and that she was much safer in one. She is the only one her age who rides in one and even though the law is anyone under 8 (i think) a lot of her friends who are under age still don't ride in them. What gets me is that the mom says that the kids argue because it's not cool. So it is okay to potentially be injured more, as long as you are cool?
  14. Also, make a point of wanting to talk to the wife. My in-laws have made a point of not talking to me and it has affected their relationship with dh. If they called and were actually interested in me and not just asking me questions about dh and dd or immediately asking for dh or dd, it would go a long way in repairing the relationship.
  15. I would not allow her to be alone with the children. She has to realize that her actions affect her relationship with her grandchildren. Yes, she is apologizing, but it takes a long time to get the trust back in the relationship. She should not expect everything to go back to how it was, even if you and your son accept her apology.
