Sinus pain up into eye?
TX Bluebonnet replied to Janie Grace's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Unfortunately it happens to me all the time. I usually have to do a combo of lots of Tylenol, a heating pad and a facial massage from my wonderful hubby. -

Now look what you did! I just discovered that Ikea has a Hemnes sofa table that would look perfect in my living room! Road trip this weekend! -
Ikea Hemnes Bedroom Series
TX Bluebonnet replied to RainbowSprinkles's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I was still typing my previous post when you posted this. Yes, it fits a standard king mattress. We did not buy the slate and I think that is where our problem was. As I posted earlier, we had to buy a huge sheet of plywood and put that in under the box spring and mattress. We tried it without first and it felt like the mattress was going to fall through to the floor. I could stand to lose a few pounds but I'm not that heavy! Lol! -
Ikea Hemnes Bedroom Series

We have the Hemnes king size bed, 8 drawer dresser, 6 drawer chest, mirror and 2 side tables. They are about four years old. As another poster mentioned, I think a lot of it has to do with how the furniture is put together. My husband, who is very handy, took his sweet time putting each piece together. It took him days to get it all done, he used wood glue in addition to the million screws and pegs that came with the furniture. Our house will fall down before this furniture comes apart. Lol. That being said, we are pretty easy on our bedroom furniture so it all looked brand new until we moved this summer. After that almost every piece had 2 or 3 scratches on it. Our furniture is dark brown/black so I covered it with a black magic marker. It looks good as new again! I also wanted to mention that we have a sheet of plywood under our mattress because the bars they provided to hold the mattress up did not seem very sturdy. Long story short. It is not the best made stuff out there and you will have to be gentle with it. I have to keep my three year old from hanging on the drawers. If you are really hard on your furniture you might want to spend more money on something more heavy duty. For our family though it's beautiful furniture at a great price! -
We live in SA north of Stone Oak and we got some rain Friday night, but nothing today. My son had a soccer clinic this evening and it was so humid I was melting.

What is your latest grocery store sticker shock?
TX Bluebonnet replied to lynn's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Bacon, I bought a pack about a month ago and it was $2.49, the same as it has been forever. Last week it had gone up to $4.00. Seriously? They didn't even have the decency to let the price creep up. They just hiked it up all at once. On a good note, I usually pay 2.99 a lb. for chicken breasts but I found it on sale for 1.87 lb. I bought 12 packs!! -
NFL Football Fans?

Thanks! I really don't know anything about the Bears. I'll have to look into them. Wait, I'm supposed to be narrowing down my choices not adding to them. Oh well! -

Maybe you ladies can help me. I am having an identity crisis of sorts. I love, love, love Brett Favre. I know what you're going to say but I still love him. Anyway, I don't know what to do now that he has retired. I really like Aaron Rodgers and I think he is going to have an awesome career! I also like Clay Matthews for obvious reasons! But I love Colt McCoy (hey, I'm from Texas) and you just can't get much better than Tom Brady. Do you see a pattern developing here? Hehe. I just don't know who to root for this year. I can't stand Dallas or Tony Romo and Houston is just so lame (the team not the city). What do you think? -

S/O foot poll...How tall are you?

I haven't read any of the replies but I wanted to say that I absolutely would not tolerate that kind of behavior. I would have made them clean it up and quick! Any back talk or whining would have resulted in spankings. Then they would have lost all privileges for a week. As for abusing school supplies, if they can't take care of their worksheets then they would get plain notebook paper and have to write all of their answers out. My eight year old wakes up before I do. He is allowed to read or watch TV but no video games. He is allowed to get a snack but he has to clean up after himself. My two year knows better than to throw food on the floor but if he decided to try it for some reason my eight year old would put a stop to it. You are not their maid. I suggest you let them be your maids for a while and see how they like it.

I told my oldest son that he would have to stop nursing on his fifth birthday. We had a big party for him on his birthday and he fell asleep that night without nursing. I don't remember if he asked for it the next day but if he did he didn't make a big deal about it! He is eight now and his little brother is still nursing at two and a half. Sometimes my eight year old asks in a joking way if he can nurse. I tell him to stop being silly but he says he remembers it and that it tasted really good! I hope I haven't scarred him for life! My little guy doesn't nurse nearly as much as my oldest did at 2 but he doesn't seem inclined to give it up any time soon. I am going to miss nursing when we are done but it will be nice to have my body back!

Albuterol makes both my ds and me very jittery. We both prefer Xoponex.

I don't have any advice either, I'm sorry. My 8 year old son is very disrespectful to me at times and tries to refuse to do any school work. He also does not want to go to school. I don't understand how this happens with an 8 year old. He is very smart, I don't want to say gifted but definitely smart. I have him working at least one grade level ahead in almost every subject. I thought he was bored so I tried to find more challenging work for him and then he got angry because the work was "too hard". I don't want to send him to school but it has gotten to the point that my husband says he doesn't want to hear me complain anymore and if I do it will be school for ds. At least you aren't the only one.:001_smile:
