  1. I'm finding this poem comforting this year, as I lost a very dear loved one a few months ago. I'm posting it hoping maybe it will be helpful to others. I'm Spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this Year I see the countless Christmas trees, Around the world below. With tiny lights, like heaven's stars, Reflecting on the snow. The sight is so spectacular, Please wipe away that tear. For I'm spending Christmas, With Jesus Christ this year. I hear the many Christmas songs, That people hold so dear. But the sounds of music can't compare, With the Christmas choir up here. For I have no words to tell you, The joy their voices bring. For it is beyond description, To hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart, But I am not so far away, we are really not apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear, And be glad I’m spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year. I send you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above, I send you each a memory, of my undying love. For after all “Love” is the gift, more precious than pure gold, It was always most important, in the stories Jesus told. So please love and help each other, as my Father said to do, For I cannot count the blessings, or the love He has for you. So have a Merry Christmas, and wipe away that tear, For I am spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year. I can't tell you of the splendor, Or the peace here in this place. Can you just imagine Christmas, With our Savior, face to face? I'll ask Him to light your spirit, As I tell Him of your love. So then pray one for another, As you lift your eyes above. Please let your hearts be joyful, And let your spirit sing. For I'm Spending Christmas in Heaven, And I'm walking with the King.
  2. I'm so sorry, Lisa. I lost my brother in July. Praying for you. :grouphug:
  3. I found this interesting, just posting in case someone else might. http://www.truthortradition.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=346
  4. Who has the cheapest price for this set? Thank you.
  5. From Matthew 12 40For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. Jesus spoke those words. I can't imagine not believing that story or any other story from the Old Testament.
  6. That passage had the same effect on me. :) Take care.

  7. 2 Peter 1 (King James Version) 2 Peter 1 1Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 12Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. 13Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 14Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. 15Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. 16For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
  8. I'm not up to talking about it yet, I just feel so empty inside. He was my baby brother. We would really appreciate any prayers, especially for my mother, who was by his side until he slipped away, and for his 4yr old daughter who was his world and vice versa. Thank you. http://www.mcdonaldfh.com/web/obituaries/2445/JeremySpiers.aspx
  9. I feel the same way. :) You could probably tell how it was funded by clicking on the "details" in the list of transactions. Thanks so much for your help, I just want to *know for sure* how it all works now. :) I haven't sold anything lately, so I can't tell for sure.
  10. Have any of your payments from buyers been funded by credit card? That's what I'm still unclear on. :) I thought that it didn't matter how it was funded and now I'm not sure. Thanks! :) quote=swimmermom3;1017840]I have processed 14 sales on my personal Paypal account since the new fees went into effect. I have paid 2.9% + .30 on each transaction. I have not been asked to upgrade to a Premier account. I don't think it matters if you specify non cc/debit only. The seller still is charged the fee. If anyone else's recent experience is different, I would like to hear about it.
  11. Katie, where do you find this info within your account? It used to be easy for me to find, but then they changed the page set-up not too long ago and I don't find it. Now I'm even more confused, I thought I had this all figured out. Glad I asked for clarification. :)
  12. The cc limit thingy is the one thing I can't find out about for definite fact. I seem to remember reading that somewhere (no cc limit), but can't find it now. I haven't sold anything as of late, so I can't speak from experience. Does anyone know for sure? :) P.S. I have no intentions of beating the system, or even trying. Just trying to get clarification on the new changes and too chicken to call paypal, themselves and ask, lol.
  13. Thanks, that helps. One more question, though :). I have a personal account and I no longer see a limit for cc transactions. Do you know if that has changed for everybody or just some? I just want to be sure I completely understand. :) Thanks, again!
  14. I am looking for clarification on the new fees. To my understanding there is now a flat fee of 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction for the seller, regardless of how the payment is funded. Correct? When I have sold books in the past, I have always indicated that I accept non-credit paypal payments only. But now that there is a flat fee for all transactions, regardless of funding type, I am now indicating that I will accept any type of paypal payment. Because I'm going to have the same fee taken out, anyway. Are other sellers aware of this? I still have sellers telling me only non-credit paypal is acceptable for them. I just recently put most of my homeschool budget on a pre-paid cc, thinking this would save me trips to the PO for money orders and fees for buying MO. But, it isn't working out so well because so few seem to be aware of the changes. Anyway, not really sure what I'm asking now, but maybe this will help to get the word out. :) And if I'm mistaken in my thinking, feel free to let me know. :)
  15. If you have time, would you mind telling me how you're using it? I'm still trying to figure it out. ;) Thanks.
  16. I just found it a few minutes ago, am still exploring, but I thought I'd mention it here. Looks like it may be useful. http://www.spellingcity.com/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=userProfile&user=131303
  17. I wanted to thank those who recommended the Italics ebook. I was finally able to get it (and some ink for my printer). After using it for about a week, i'm already seeing a big improvement. Thanks again! :)
  18. Thanks, ladies. Lots of helpful advice here. I appreciate your help. :)
  19. Hi, Please check your private messages. I'd like to buy some of the materials you have listed on the sale board. I've pm'ed you twice with no reponse. Thanks!

  20. Ok, now I'm desperately seeking this used. I've checked my favorite used curriculum sites, only to realize there are quite a few different versions. Is there any huge difference between them all? Thanks for the heads up, it sounds great. :)
  21. Is there anything out there to help my 5th grader memorize his times tables 6-9? He has the 1s-5s down pat, but struggles to remember 6-9. Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially anything free online. :) Thanks!
  22. Wow, I didn't realize there were so many of us. You're all north of me, though. :)
  23. Thank you, Sheila. That's great to hear, we've been using MCP since K, too. It's always nice to hear a success story. :)
  24. We're not there just yet, but it won't be long, next year actually. Anyway, when your child completes book F do you just go straight into Pre-algebra? Or what? :) TIA
