  1. ... how does one search for two words together in a post? Advice appreciated. :)
  2. If you haven't already, you might want to ask about it over at the homeschoolreviews.com board. There are a lot of happy users over there. :)
  3. I ordered it from cbd few days ago. I [heart] cbd too. ;)
  4. We definitely had this issue with a few concepts too. I also think the traditional teaching and spiral approach of CLE is a better fit for my guys and hope it'll be the same for your little gal. ;)
  5. I don't mean to discredit MUS in anyway, and I hope I didn't sound that way. MUS laid a great foundation and we used it for a few years, but I just felt my boys needed more practice. It was definitely the right switch for them. I hope it works well for your dd. :)
  6. We don't cross any out here. We switched from Math U See last year and they have both excelled with CLE. I have found that they have retained so much. It may be different for others or for younger dc, but mine need to do all the work. As for days, this is one subject that they do five days a week.
  7. Here's my list: Christian Light Education Math U See Explode the Code
  8. I love when the dhs show interest, yet respect our role as teacher. :) And, thank you. We're looking forward to Preparing.
  9. We'll be using parts of Preparing Hearts for our 5th grader. He also wants to do MFW Exp to 1850 with his big bro. And I definitely understand the conflict you've experienced. I've had that lack of peace too but we're getting closer to finalizing things as well. I love it when Dad voices his opinion. It's rare here, but very appreciated. :)
  10. We'll be using MFW's Exploration to 1850 with our 7th and 5th grader. I'm definitely looking forward to it! :)
  11. Another update: I received my order today! I was even able to sit down with the materials during mini-man's nap time. I *really* like the looks of it thus far and think it will be a great fit for our 7th grader. Additionally, I received an email reply today from an email I sent just yesterday inquiring about my order. Just letting everyone know in the event they were hesitant to order... :)
  12. Yes! That's where I am. [heavy sigh] You summed it up very well, Saille. We were going to start Monday, but there is no way I'm ready. It'll have to be the Monday next... maybe. :tongue_smilie:
  13. I just checked their website and they are having phone troubles. They apologized and are directing people to their email: dcdobbins@aol.com until the phone troubles are resolved.
  14. The only thing I can think of that comes remotely close is Trisms.
  15. Explode the Code CLE Math CLP Nature Readers (Five Hearts!) MFW Adventures HOD Bigger Hearts Sonlight 3 and 4 and the principles of WWE and WTM writing
  16. Hmmm... I just spoke to them last week after placing my order online. I called after I saw the order summary page say that it could take 4-6 weeks for delivery. I had left a message that same afternoon and a nice young lady returned my call the next day (Friday the 16th). She said she was packing it to ship out the next day. I'll can let you know when I receive it?
  17. Agreeing with Sue G in PA as well. Tina, you're doing the right thing by taking the higher road, and you're modeling the right response for your dc. :grouphug:
  18. They do look really nice! Please let us know how it goes. :)
  19. User opinions, please? :) http://www.writefromhistory.com/
  20. I struggled with this too, Kim. But after much thought and prayer, I came to the conclusion that I want him to still enjoy science. I have to remind myself that typically, even as adults, we retain so much more of what we actually enjoy. Additionally, for this particular ds, I think the idea of "less is more" applies with Rainbow.
