Thanks for reminding me about this! I'm getting ready to withdraw from our virtual academy and I don't have funds for new stuff for the rest of the year either. This should supplement nicely the things I already have on my shelves.

How about something like the Time Travelers cd's from Homeschool in the Woods. They have lots of crafts and hands-on things to do. Or look at Guest Hollow's American History plans (free and done by a member on this board).

I'm the one with the peanut allergy in my house and I LOVE Sunbutter! I've never tasted peanut butter so I can't compare.

For those of you that went with Paces, I'd love to hear how it's going for you!:) I'm looking into using either Paces or Lifepacs for next year (or maybe next semester) because I'm just worn out. I have a few samples of both and while "I" prefer the Lifepacs, it looks like the repetitiveness of the Paces will work better with my kids with learning disabilities.

No, I absolutely could not resist that face!!! We were "failures" as human foster parents, I can't imagine what would happen with dogs! We became foster parents fully intending to foster ONLY. Needless to say, soon after our first placement we were scrambling to add an adoption license to our foster license. 4 adoptions later we decided to give up our license because we ran out of room! I decided to try K12 virtual academy this year because I was so burnt out dealing with special needs and 2 rambunctious preschoolers. I thought it would be less stressful but it is NOT! The sheer number of Teacher's Guides has me overwhelmed at the moment. I struggle getting in the required hours every day and then there are "Class Connects" to make sure I have the 2 olders ready for while keeping the youngers busy. They science is boring, I hate the math..... However, they are very accommodating to the special needs. That's the only thing keeping me with it for the moment. I will not be returning to it next year. But.....there are many people with special needs kids who love it. There are a number of k12 facebook groups for different areas and a special needs group as well. I pray you find something that works for you!
