  1. We have blankets for each of our kids from one of the grandmothers. It was so thoughtful of her.
  2. You made that?! It is so snuggly looking. Tell how. What kind of yarn, needles, or hooks, what kind of stitch or whatever it may called. I hope it will always be a lovie for the little one. We had a colorful pastel blanket that belonged to one of our littles about 18 years ago and grandson latched on to it and never gave it back.
  3. The emotions bar...the one that looks purple and white...I thought it was a trophy, so have been handing them out when I think things like "This is the best post on this thread! Winner! Trophy!" No, it means "Thanks." ? Then, I couldn't find the emojis. Oh, here they are, in the tool bar. I don't know how to access them to post to someone else's post, I guess not possible.
  4. Hornblower always has suggestions and resources she recommends. Your dog sounds like ours. Have still not gotten her to calm down about some things. I hope Hornblower is okay but I haven't been here for a couple of weeks...
  5. I listened on my lap top and my phone. I hear yammy. I have tinnitus. Does that matter? I've listened to three different versions (websites) of it too. Let me check with the fam. Oh, wait they're supposed to be asleep. lol but they weren't asleep. 3 heard laurel, 1 heard yanny, I still hear yammy.
  6. That totally cracks me up! If the boss wasn't in your ward, you wouldn't know until......."Mom? I met this girl..."
  7. Oh, good, there's hope for us all. At least he's showing what motivates him. (snicker, snicker)
  8. Anyone live in Wisconsin and have kids? Not many people live in Wisconsin. And there are no children. Nope. Not a one. Devoid of all children. Too many cows, too much cheese...and snow.
  9. My personal opinion: I seriously doubt they are a "homeschool family", just another excuse to be out of the radar and free to abuse, neglect, and screw up a bunch of kids. Pellet gun injuries? Bruises, Burns. The mess of the house is another issue entirely. Let's add not registered with the state for homeschooling which is not legal. Other homeschoolers are defending them on FB, Mergath? This is just ridiculous.
  10. Poison ivy is prolific in the mid-Atlantic states and it seemed to be everywhere I turned when I lived there. Poison oak I had never seen until I moved to TX. It doesn't seem as invasive/sprawling as poison ivy. The plants don't get very big from what I have seen. Poison sumac, I know what a sumac is but I don't know if it is the same thing as what you're talking about. I never had a reaction to it.
  11. The past few days when I tried to log in I could not log in. Now of course I do not remember what message was on the screen. Perhaps it was You are not allowed to access this website. I don't think that was it exactly, but for several days I was excluded. Sometimes I can get right in, other times I log in and it tells me that my user name is my email name, then it jumps to forums page and, PRESTO! I am logged in with my user name.
  12. I called one of my co-workers "Mum" the other day because another co-worker and I were speaking in accents to one another and it kind of rolled into the conversation. I'm American. I don't think if offended her, but I will not be doing that again. She's a few years older than I and it may offend her next time. At work, we call children by their first name if needed, we say sir or m'am or miss to people over 18. We refer to men usually as a guy, women as women, such as can you help this woman? If all else fails, I say, for instance, "this individual" or "this person". Using the correct language instead of common language is usually the more professional option.
  13. Our best ever hair stylist moved to the Pacific Coast, Portland, I think. So disappointing and we haven't found a decent replacement yet. She always knew what she was doing, always understood what we wanted and how our hair would behave with what we were asking for, we really miss her. She was never judgy mcjudgerson either. I hope you can find someone you trust with your hair, Night Elf.
  14. The one our friend has was hand made for him.
  15. We know someone who plays accordion, Zydeco style of music, and I don't know what else, but my kids always loved to hear him play. There are lots of videos on youtube of zydeco music, think Louisiana Creole. It is fun to dance to.
  16. Fly, little birdie. When I was a "new" homeschooler...there weren't that many others around that had been doing it much longer. I don't think it is right to be of the mind, "well since I've been homeschooling longer than you and that makes me an expert..." We are all muddling our way through it. You know the situations of homeschoolers are so varied! From all walks of life, money/no money, parents/grandparents/divorced/single, etc. and you do what works for you. The exclusive groups were what kept us out of almost all activities. You could only bring kids that were between 8 and 10 for this activity, etc. What was I supposed to do with my other kids while staying on location for the activity? Your librarian is going above and beyond by having a homeschool friendly group. Did she maybe work with the woman to get it started? Maybe? That could be why the woman feels she "owns" the group. If you really want to attend this get together, do. And start reaching out to the librarian more, suggest other activities. Get your kids involved in the summer reading program. Go your own way. These are your children. No one knows them better than you and no one knows better than you what will work for your family.
  17. need suggestions for a pet Our pets do not listen to us. I would never suggest anything to our pets. I demand and command, but suggest? No. What is it you are trying to get your pet to do?
  18. No one can forget you. Things you posted here and there...your dh and his certifications....a maybe rabid dog...something about law enforcement... Stick around!
  19. how many fitting in rotation bras do you think a grown woman should have... Sounds like wild times on the WTM boards again. My books do not rotate, therefore, neither do my bras.
  20. Master Bathroom Sink Poll I have not been able to get my master bathroom sinks to communicate with me in any way, so good luck with polling sinks.
  21. I'm not concerned about it and I guess things will work themselves out in the next few weeks and if they don't, who am I to complain about a free forum? This time getting in it was a breeze. Still not sure I understand how it is working. lol
  22. Plus when I click on social groups it says that page does not exist. What else? Oh, I have a hard time getting in to the website where I can sign in and get to where it says my user name instead of my email name. I haven't figured out how to get to it quickly; I have to go through several steps.
  23. I was doing a test too. Trying to figure out the like button, which I could not get to cause a like and as a result of that, I was handing out trophies. lol
  24. Curled up in a corner with my blanket, trembling, checking every few minutes for action. Went to a wedding, had a family reunion, took guests to the big city for horse activities, went to the airport twice in one day, worked, watched some of General Conference, took walks. Thought about working on my family history, the thought process really is important on this, I have to work myself up to it because once I get started on it for one sitting I'm usually working on it for at least 2 hours.
