  1. OPTGR and letter factory DVD! DS1 who is three is now beginning to read bob books from these methods!
  2. I am a paper person. I do like computers but I love having and keeping paper records. That said I would like some kind of journal/planner thing where I can take daily notes on our progress and write down things we may need to go over more or what not. I have the homeschooling mother's planner from rainbow resources but that isn't really what I was hoping for at this point. I don't need anything with grading or stuff just good spaces to place notes by subject. Any suggestions or what do you all use? TIA!
  3. Thanks! the pencil grip company was the ones I was looking at on amazon. :) I went ahead and ordered some that will hopefully help DS out the holds the pencil way up high and in a tightly clenched fist :P
  4. DS is 3 and really wants to write. We got him a ZB K level book like big sister's and I figure if he's going to be writing he might as well start learning a good grip to make things easier on him in the long run. with that said what is a good pencil grip for little hands? I hate those triangle ones with a passion and I remember reading something about big fat "first pencils" being not good ergonomically. I see a bunch up on amazon that are highly reviewed by OTs but not mentioning wether it is good for very small 3yo hands TIA!
  5. Are they worth it? Do they help drive home the topics in EB or is it something that is more of fluff that I could do without? We are getting ready to begin formally with EB1 Std ed and I am on the hinge of wether or not I want to get the readers
  6. thank you so much!!! I am definitely looking into this Irasshai!!
  7. I did not get to see this in Imax (so jealous) But I saw it 2 times in 3-D and was thoroughly amazed! Being a 3-D artist myself I can appreciate the pure time and talent that it took to create such an unbelievably alive world. I was sucked in from the first site of Pandora and felt my eyes well up several times during the film as the emotion was almost too much for me to take. At the end of the film I didn't want to get up I wanted for it to start again. The CG was the best I have seen yet. to the point where my 12 yo thought they were painted actors! The movements were smooth the textures were so alive and the facial emotions are what sent shivers down my spine! I have always been a fan of Cameron though (Aliens was a super fave of mine) So I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for this film to come out. I just hope it is still playing in Imax when we go up to visit my parents next week so I can add number 3 to my list :P
  8. You can also try some of the WAHMs on Hyenacart.com if there is no Camo listed I am sure you can find someone to custom dye for you
  9. We decided we would like the littles to learn Japanese and since they learn easiest when they are younger I have started looking into finding a program that works for younger kids that is friendly to parents who cannot speak that language and will be learning with them. Note: I am not planning on starting this soon I am just wanting to begin my research towards finding a good method Thanks!!
  10. I bought phonics pathways to help with the teaching reading stuff as DS is begging for school and in love with reading. He knows his letter sounds and the upper and lower case letters already. But after that I am ? LOL So I sat down read the intros and suggestions and such turned to the "first lesson" and totally didn't get what I was/am supposed to do LOL Granted I am a pretty structured planed out kinda gal so maybe I am needing more hand holding being a HSing noob in general. I went ahead and ordered OPGTR as well in hops that something would click but I would love to know if there is actually a method behind PP or some kind of lesson plan out there because I sure as heck am lost on what to do with it!
  11. DS will be 3 next week and knows his letters and sounds thanks to HOP, letter factory and talking words factory. I just ordered OPGTR to use along since I tend to need more structure for myself :P That said my cousin's twin boys were reading at a first grade level at age 3 but DSD struggled to learn when she was 7 so every kids is going to be very different.
