  1. Just started IEW and have TWSS as well as SWI A. There is a DVD in TWSS that is called Student Writing Workshop and I am using Intermediate Level for my 5th grade ds. Can someone give me hints to streamline this process? The Workshop has already provided some great tips. I would rather let Andrew teach. Was TWSS necessary? Thanks
  2. Yes, maybe you're right. I might have been more excited about the cocoon than he was. Good point.
  3. A couple years ago my son and I found a huge tomato horn worm in our garden. We conducted what I thought was a science project extraordinaire by placing the grotesque thing in a jar. It promptly spun a cocoon and we marveled at the process going on right before our eyes of it becoming a moth. How much more vivid can nature study get? Tonight when I mentioned it to our son, who is now 10 years old, he had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. My husband and I were so surprised since it was very memorable for us. We prodded him with the details so we could hear him say "Oh yea!" but he said he had some faint memories of the jar on the counter. Do your kids forget things like this? Are some things just lost on them? This made me wonder if some of the details we worry about in the younger years will be forgotten? Rhonda
  4. Oh boy, I can completely identify with you. I'm 80 lbs too big too and it just keeps getting worse because I'm in denial. Although I've read a ton of health/diet books, I've just started one on emotional eating which is really making sense to me. The Emotional Diet. I got it from Amazon. It incorporates all kinds of techniques including EFT. (I still haven't figured out how to post avatars and pretty stuff like everyone else has, but I want to start posting... ) Rhonda Hey, maybe you want an accountability partner??
