  1. That is so much all at once!! Praying for peace in the midst of the chaos! Anne
  2. When we were younger we did all the things we knew how to do and only hired out the things we didn’t know how to do. Now that we are retired, we hire out anything we (a) hate doing, and (b) can afford to pay for. Anne
  3. I like to have a few visitors who don’t stay long. I’d also like them to call me in advance and not just show up. When I’m in the hospital I want to read and doze. Possibly watch a video. Alone. Except for the army of medical staff that keeps swarming in and out. 🙂 Anne
  4. I remember entire months when it seemed that the only lesson was, “one of us is in charge, and it’s not you!” 🤣🤣 (Lest anyone think that my child was tied to the table and fed a steady diet of things she didn’t like, that’s not the way it was! But she did have to learn that although she was listened to and heard, at the end of the day, I was in charge.
  5. I’m so very sorry for all your losses - Anne
  6. Another vote for Walgreens - super easy and the pics are good quality. Anne
  7. Praying for your biopsy today and all of the details. Sending big hugs!! (((Melissa)))
  8. Congratulations and Best Wishes!! Anne
  9. My dh is on Medicare plus a supplemental plan. I am on an individual policy which gives me heartburn each and every time I pay the premium - can’t wait until I turn 65!! Anne
  10. I also like Fitness Blender. Another one is Fitness with PJ - she targets the Over 40 demographic. I don’t mind her patter most of the time and I do like her workouts. Anne
  11. Everyone has such different reactions to scents! We have someone who is currently living in our house that uses Zum. It’s not the most horrible scent in the world to me, but my washing machine always reeks after he’s used it. Ugh! But I’m a low fragrance kind of person. Anne
  12. Sending hugs and continuing to pray for you, Melissa! Anne
  13. In my experience, I don’t! My parents are late 80s and early 90s, and getting them to have more help has been entirely unsuccessful so far - and it’s not b/c of lack of money, either! It’s just stubbornness and a different mindset. And they’re still very competent - my 94 yo dad just got his first cell phone and is learning to text! I think he’s motivated by his interest in having some transportation help - maybe Uber. But anyway, we have talked to them and encouraged them to get some more help on board, and so far, nothing doing. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ They have the right to live their own lives and make their own decisions, so here we are…
  14. I’m so sorry!! Praying for a good recovery for you! Anne
  15. Praying for you, Melissa - waiting is hard!
  16. Just checking in to say that I am thinking of you and praying for you. Sending hugs! Anne
  17. Any place my kids could swim, kayak, and hike was a win. Ability to ride horses was a plus. We also liked city vacations with good museums, swimming pools/water parks, and some history. What would your kids like to do? Anne
  18. I’m praying for you, Melissa, and sending hugs. Anne
  19. If you and dh will be the only plan participants, it might be worth looking into whether or not individual policies would be better/more cost effective. Anne
  20. My grown children and their spouses get cash. They love it. They love getting money they can spend outside of their family budgets. My grandchildren get actual gifts - they love those and I love giving them. 🙂 Stockings are a tradition in our family, but once you’re married, your spouse is responsible for filling it. 🙂. Anne
  21. Way to go!! My dh camped and hiked there as a Boy Scout a very long time ago!! Anne
  22. Praying for healing and recovery for your boy, and for peace and strength for you, Melissa! Anne
