A friend of mine has an orthopedic doctor whom she (and her dh) sees regularly. Without fail, the staff schedules another appointment for them without any consultation - and usually the staff is not available when they’re leaving. Inevitably, the appointment is scheduled at an impossible time. This means that they almost always have to call them back which is always a pita, and try to reschedule. Just doesn’t make any sense at all. Anne

Unbelievable. Just dreadful behavior on their part. I’m so sorry, Katie - at least this is further confirmation that it wasn’t your dh in any way, shape, or form - there’s something definitely rotten there….

Today is primarily for putting away all the Christmas things and taking down the tree. Hopefully in a relaxed fashion! I’m planning on a walk with a good friend who is leaving town for awhile so am looking forward to that. Anne

I love Duluth, but the sleeves of their long sleeve shirts are too long for my arms - this is not a normal occurrence for me - no other brand is consistently too long in the sleeve. That being said, their quality is solid. Anne

One of my daughters is in charge of dessert - usually a key lime pie but mostly I’m just grateful she takes care of that end of things!!

My family started making menus in advance of our big gathering - this was so helpful! I start a text string amongst the people asking for meal requests. Then I filter them and present a menu for people to comment on. When finalized, I ask for volunteers for each meal. This was life-changing! Really made the big gathering MUCH easier! Anne

I know you’re not interested in a smart phone for yourself, but another thing to consider is, do you really want your 14 yo daughter to have a device that you have little idea how to operate and where the dangers are? Just a thought to consider… Anne

I think the “what do your girls want” question is key. I see the gamut of possibilities here - from small to large.

We have black fixtures. I don’t think they’re any harder to keep clean than the stainless/chrome fixtures I used to have. And I love them. 🙂

These are good things to know for your planning process - and I rejoice with you that your son is likely to survive and not be disabled!

Even with the expertise you have in your family, I think it would be worth, at a minimum, buying a couple of hours of consultation time with an experienced trust/special needs attorney, and having your dad and your dh both attend. Anne

I don’t give anniversary gifts to my married children. I have done some babysitting for them when they’re celebrating those anniversaries - but I babysit for them frequently, so that’s not unusual. I’m pleased with myself when I remember to verbally wish them a Happy Anniversary (not a given!🤷‍♀️) 😂 Anne

A friend of mine in her late 30’s just had Covid and took Paxlovid b/c she is immunocompromised. She felt much better very quickly. The fatigue lasted a couple more days. Anne

What a lovely evening! My mom passed away this fall, and she would have loved to do something like that. Anne

Breakfast: cinnamon rolls, fruit, eggs & bacon or sausage. All made and consumed in a very relaxed fashion. Lunch: individual grazing Dinner: Prime rib and the usual fixings Christmas Eve dinner is always clam chowder and Caesar salad.

I give my dad a fruit subscription - every 6 weeks or so he gets a package of some of his favorite fruit from Pittman & Davis. He loves it.

I’ve never even heard of a carrot soufflé!!! I look forward to seeing recipes - now off to google!! Anne
