  1. We got a few: Walk the Dogs Yahtzee Jr Monopoly Go Scrabble Slam Pentago DD3 loves the Yahtzee Jr and the rest of the family is partial to Pentago.
  2. Carle, thanks for that dictation info! I skimmed the first few lessons and then downloaded it. It may be a good place to start. It looks interesting to me anyway, lol. And thanks for the comments Re: SOTW... I guess our program is fun! :)
  3. Thank you for this! It looks wonderful and I just may go ahead and use this for DS vs. buying yet another program!
  4. I'm conflicted on AAS.... It seems like my program isn't particularly 'fun' (SOTW, FFL, WWE, probably either Saxon or CLE for math, science per WTM, piano lessons) so I thought AAS would be a bit more tactile and 'fun' for my spelling-challenged child... but Spelling Power and SWO seem more defined... Of course I may be totally wrong because I haven't tried any of them with my son. Who knew I would agonize so much over this! Michelle
  5. Thank you for the link! I really like the fact that you can buy one workbook and try it out before investing in the entire year (as with Saxon). So do you feel that CLE math challenges the student more than Saxon? And how much do you use the Teacher's Manual or do you just find yourself teaching from the workbook? Thanks so Much! Michelle
  6. Thank you for the suggestions. CLE or Saxon sound the most suited to him for math... AAS, Spelling Power... hmmmm... Decisions, decisions....
  7. I'm new here. I am starting to homeschool my 2nd grader in January. I also have a 17 year old high school senior who will finish public school in June and a 3 year old. My 7 year old does very well in math (his favorite topic) and is an average speller (typically 12/15 on his weekly public school spelling/dictation tests). I am planning to follow WTM loosely, using TSOW with AG as well as using FLL and WWE. For Science I plan to use the books as outlined in TSOW as well. For Art, Music, Physical Education/Health, etc., I plan to use an ecclectic approach focusing on my son's interests as well as Scouting activities. I am so overwhelmed trying to choose Math and Spelling programs for him. I am leaning toward Saxon math because it is scripted, my son is good at math, and those doing Saxon math do well on standardized tests. However, I flip-flip between Saxon, MUS, Singapore Math, and so on. Spelling is another area in which I would like some suggestions. I don't want a program that will make him write lists and lists of words over and over again, even when he knows how to spell them. I want one that will teach him to understand how to spell things, not just memorize how to spell them. One of my friends uses All About Spelling and likes that. Spelling Power also is of interest. But there are so many programs out there that I just don't know what to do! Thanks in advance for any advice. Michelle
  8. That's the one we have. It has all of the songs from the original program and a few extras. Michelle
