I had a friend who was doing medical transcription successfully out of her home a few years ago. She wasn't self-employed; she logged into a website and accepted assignments. I haven't been in touch with her for some time, so I don't know if she's still doing it now. One big concern in this field is outsourcing, though. I'd do some research into the outlook of transcription before deciding.

We are looking for a good online driver's ed. class for my ds16. Does anyone have recommendations for a good course at a reasonable price? (We live in California.) Thanks! :)

Oh, now I feel mean. I'm making my 5th grade dd do one full week of WWE 3 each day. Two passages, two summaries, two dictations. I want to get through in time to start WWE 4 next semester. So far it's working fine; if I find she's struggling, we'll slow down.

Have you looked at SWB's dictation demonstration on Youtube? Someone posted a link a few months back. Watching that helped me a lot. Now I generally go over any words my dd doesn't know and tell her what punctuation to listen for ahead of time. If it takes more than 2 or 3 readings, that's ok.

The 2nd one is each letter, beginning with a, followed by b. So the next should be eb.
