  1. If you truly want to understand then read The Obesity Code.
  2. I would suggest you add a little bit of carbs to this. If you add a slice of bread or a few crackers your insulin will go up and that will help you to gain weight.
  3. I’m so excited for you, it sounds awesome! I would absolutely buy that house.
  4. I’m just guessing, but I wonder if she means saving for a specific thing. She gave the example of saving for a stove but she’s going to end up using that money for car repairs. We don’t save for specific things, we just have money in our checking/savings accounts that could cover appliances, car repairs, etc.
  5. I had a Shark steam mop, I returned it. I hated it, it left my floors streaky (my whole house is tile) and took 3x as long as using my favorite mop. If you want to try one I would buy it at bed bath and beyond because you could return it there if you don’t like it.
  6. I would buy a small box of Finish Powerball Tabs and see if they work any better
  7. It’s adult styling why? Because it doesn’t have strawberries or bows or hearts? I would have worn the equivalent of that suit in my small, conservative midwestern town in 1976 (when I was 4) and not have been given a 2nd glance. No one thought it was sexualizing.
  8. Hmmm, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that suit.
  9. I’ve bought empty roller balls from amazon and put my own oils in them.
  10. Ive never seen any kind of dress code (except maybe closed toe shoes) for any camp here. The only modesty nonsense comes from the schools.
  11. I knew what this was going to be. Thats my favorite video, makes me laugh every time.
  12. Water bottles are the thing I see the most at the gym lost and found. I’ve had to go digging through there a few times looking for one of our bottles. In our house it is most likely to be DS that loses things. But at the ballet studio there’s a trash can (kitchen size) in each studio for lost and found and they’re always at least half full and there’s only a handful of boys at our studio. One day I was helping someone look for something and I pulled out a sweatshirt with my DD’s name embroidered on it. We didn’t even know it was missing. Lol When I was in elementary school the secretary would call me down to the office at least 2-3 times-week to retrieve my glasses that I had left in the bathroom, lunchroom, library, etc.
  13. Absolutely. At our rock climbing gym they empty lost and found every couple months but they always have a huge closet FULL of lost stuff and it’s mostly adults who climb there
  14. I can’t even tell you how many times we were driving, halfway to an activity and I would turn around to see that DS didn’t have shoes on. I started keeping a couple pair of flip flops tucked in the car.
  15. I’ve read some speculation that the parkinson’s link could be from the vibration of driving tractors for many years.
  16. I would also go with a complementary color, not red/maroon. My front door is a dark teal, it would go great with that brick. I don’t have any blues inside my house either.
  17. I didn’t get the impression that the victim’s family is the one giving the OP grief. It seems to be other people in the homeschool community.
  18. We have a 3 week (9am-4pm) intensive at our studio that dd will do (has always done so far). Next year she will likely audition for some other intensives, our director likes the girls to be about 15 before they go away to intensives.
  19. I think instruction quality is more important than spending a huge number of hours in class. If my dd took just the required number of classes she would have 8 hours a week. The most committed dancers at our studio probably max out at about 12 hours of classes. Rehearsal times increase a lot as they get older and get more/better parts, most weeks dd has 2-5 hours of rehearsals (for 2-3 months before nutcracker and 2-3 months before our June show).
  20. Sorry, I missed this. My daughter has 5-6 ballet classes (1.5 hours each) per week. She takes 4 at her level and 1 extra class that is 2 levels lower, she does that class en pointe, most weeks she ends up with one of her other classes en pointe too. Then for a couple months of the year she has an extra ballet class at her level to help prepare for exams (RAD). She takes modern and jazz (required at her level) for 1 hour each and she takes an hour of Tap (optional).
  21. Our last dryer lasted 10-11 years. It’s matching washing machine is 14 years old but it could kick the bucket any day now. We replaced the water pump in it (ourselves, with Youtube help) about 6 months ago and a couple times in the last 6 weeks it’s had error messages and I’ve had to go through a fixya checklist and give it a shake and both times it eventually worked. But...any day now... The worst part is trying to decide what to buy to replace it.
