  1. Thank so much for sharing your work! We are doing GS this year and I'm grateful for your website! Ditto! :)
  2. I've purchased Visual Link Spanish for my 7th grader. (cross-post) Just got an email from VL Spanish for 30% off on their new version 5.0 Level 1. Ends up costing $84 with free shipping. Coupon code: 30SALE Sale ends 6/23.

  4. Just got an email from VL Spanish for 30% off on their new versoin 5.0 Level 1. Ends up costing $84 with free shipping. Coupon code: 30SALE Sale ends 6/23.
  5. Ask them about the differences between v 4.8 and 5.0 when you call as the updated version has substantial improvements with an entirely new interface, etc. They actually sent me both versions to download. An email offer came about 3 days later. It was still $119.99, but they included 5 free gifts with it. When I called to ask for their very best deal for homeschoolers, I got the $100 price and the free gifts. In my opinion, it was worth the extra $20 to get updated version as new editions always bode better for resell. She said it can be resold if you completely remove it from your computer. When that time comes, I'll call to get specific instructions so I do it all correctly.
  6. I talked with VL directly last week and found out the following. The VL Spanish for sale on Amazon is version 4.8 which is now discontinued. They updated to version 5.0 about a month ago. Call them directly and they will give you a demo of 5.0 as it seems to be much improved version. I called and asked about a 10% homeschool discount code I had seen then asked what their very best price would be and they gave the new version to me for $99.99. It will arrive this week.
  7. We've used CLE Math 400-500, Reading 500-600, and LA 500-600. Pros: -Math, Reading, LA get done consistently thanks to CLE. No planning; just do then next lesson. -CLE is thorough. -DD can work independently. -The workbooks are portable so easy to do a lesson in the car if you are on-the-go. Cons: -I strongly dislike the format of the answer keys. Seems like I often waste time trying to find the AK for the quizzes, tests because they aren't in sequential order which I find frustrating. -we don't do CLE's spelling which is included in the LA
  8. my 12 1/2 yo dd pulled out our copy just today and was reading it once again. Not sure I'd pay $25 for it, but she has read it many times.
  9. Yes, that sounds rights. My dd finished 505 in CLE and tested into TT 7. By the way, my dd really wanted to do TT instead of CLE so we borrowed it from a friend so she could try it out. After two months in TT, she asked to go back to CLE! Approximately the first 1/3 of TT 7 was all review for her as that material had already been covered in CLE 500.
  10. Thanks for the info! I didn't know how to use tags either but think it is a helpful idea!
  11. Thanks so much! We soakd our feet in Epson salt so I'll try your recipe. I'm curious as to why iodine is in the mixture?
  12. Does anyone skip the penmanship, spelling portion of CLE LA? If so, why? My dd completed CLE 500 and we are now in CLE 600. I decided to do something different for spelling so we're skipping CLE's spelling. DD, who complained about CLE previously, seems more tolerant of it without the spelling component probably because she can complete lesson more quickly now. Does CLE 700+ still include spelling?
  13. :iagree: CLE also has an inexpensive Basics of Diagramming booklet. http://www.clp.org/search/results?query=diagram
  14. Boscopup, thanks for the heads up on the worksheet generator. Jackie, thanks for your input, too! I appreciate it. :) I printed out the TOC for LIGHT BLUE (Gr 4-6), then I compared those lesson titles with the TOC of each of the topical books in the BLUE Bundle (Gr 4-6). That is when I realized that the content is almost identical between the two series. Exception: Light Blue 4-B Ch 7 on Fractions correlates with BLUE series Intro to Fractions and this book is not in the Gr 4-6 Bundle. Maria's suggested order of study for BLUE series lines up beautifully with the TOC in Light Blue Gr 4-6 so it was not difficult for me to see where one grade level starts and stops in the topical series after the footwork I completed. Now I agree that it was time consuming to do this so you are right in saying that Light Blue does it for you. I'm looking at MM as a supplement, not my primary curriculum (although that could change) so was trying to discern the potential benefit of the added elements you receive in Light Blue. I agree that having cumulative reviews and tests are a bonus but Light BLUE Gr 4-6 (when 6 is completed) costs $96 whereas the BLUE Bundle is $54 which is a $42 difference, not huge, but significant for some people. Maybe my wordy thoughts might help someone else trying to choose between the two choice of MM. Thanks again for your help! :)
  15. I am on Maria's email list and she indicated a sale was going to occur around Thanksgiving. I'm assuming more details will follow. Are you saying that this link is the exact same worksheet generator that is included in the Light Blue series? For those who use 4-A and above, do the cumulative reviews and tests occur after EVERY chapter? Again, just trying to discern if the additional extras included in Light Blue series are worth the additional cost or if I'll be fine just buying the Gr 4-6 BLUE bundle.
  16. Does each chapter of LIGHT BLUE series include a cumulative review AND a chapter test? Can you tell me more about the worksheet maker? Am I correct in thinking that it is only included in Light Blue and is not in the Blue series? When you use the Light Blue series, do you begin with Chapter 1 and work through the book in the order that it is written? Or do you work on various chapters simultaneously? The reason I'm asking is that it seems like people recommend Light Blue (Grade level) over Blue (topical), but after spending considerable time comparing the Table of Contents for Light Blue (Grades 4-6) and the BLUE Bundle for Grades 4-6, I've discovered they are virtually indentical except for the price -- the BLUE Bundle (Gr 4-6) is considerably less expensive than buying Light Blue (Gr 4-6). The other difference between the two series is the cumulative reviews, tests, and worksheet maker which is why I asked about them previously as I'm trying to decide if they are worth spending the extra money. Maria is having a 20% off Thanksgiving sale so I'm trying to figure out which route to go so would love your input.
  17. Great idea! Thanks for shairng! I may do some supplementing with MM and my dd loves Webkinz so this will be a hit! Plus the fact that she currently loves have the "buddy" on Teaching Textbooks so the plush mammoth would be her new math buddy!
  18. What Light Unit in CLE did your dd finish when you gave her the MM placement tests? My dd is also in 6th grade, using CLE (finished 505) and I'm seriously looking at MM. Thanks!
  19. Just curious .....when you say "2 pages/day" are you talking about the front and back side of one page = 2 pages/day? Thanks for clarifying.
  20. I wouldn't want to miss out on B4FIAR with the age of your children. The FIAR lessons were often over the head of my 4 yo. Be sure and join the FIAR forum as they are a great bunch of gals with a wealth of info.
