  1. A mattress on the floor for an infant? How does that work? What are the approximate dimensions of the rooms, and can you put all those beds in without blocking the window?
  2. The standards for each grade level are between 4-7 pages long for each grade level: http://www.corestandards.org/wp-content/uploads/Math_Standards.pdf
  3. :iagree: There are many elementary teachers who cannot teach math well at all, lots of schools using truly awful programs, and now they all have a scapegoat.
  4. I got the same amount and I *do* buy kindle books. Just must not be that many from these publishers.
  5. This makes me chuckle since it reminds me of something my mom used to call my dad. She said he was a jack_ss of all trades. lol! I guess I come by it honestly. :tongue_smilie:
  6. That looks like a neat website. Bookmarking for sure! That sounds like me. I take karate with my kids, but can't ever see it becoming an obsession. I dabble in photography. I'm not ever going to be regarded by many as an artist. I'm okay with that. I enjoy learning more about it and am improving. I've messed with auto body repair and even rebuilt an engine once. That was fun. I learned a lot and am glad I did it. I used to draw and paint some. As a kid, I played the piano, clarinet and coronet. I've dabbled in knitting by machine--made hats, scarves, sweaters etc. Sewn most of my kid's clothing for years and ran an online business marketing my own cloth diapers and covers. I can build furniture! It's fun! I've made loft beds, desks, TV cabinet and numerous shelves (always need more). I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things. Yeah. That does sound like me. Never knew there was a word for it. My mom used to tell me I never stick with anything. I reminded her that I have done a great many things most people never even try.
  7. That would be nice. I'm beginning to wonder if, when parents get together and talk about their kids, everyone thinks the others are bragging.
  8. I really liked him as Khan. But as Sherlock? Meh.
  9. Ice scraper, jug of washer solvent, and I carry a phone and AAA card.
  10. We have one very similar to this that my son (a serious pianist) was happy with for years before I bought an Arius. http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Privia-PX-150-Digital-Matching/dp/B00ET9ZQOI/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1391002071&sr=8-9&keywords=casio+privia+px The pedal board: http://www.amazon.com/Casio-SP32-Pedal-Board-Stand/dp/B002CJNAPO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391002416&sr=8-1&keywords=casio+pedal+board The one we have is the discontinued PX130. I got it with the stand, bench and 3 pedals for $500 at Best Buy. Never seen it that low since or even anything similar, unfortunately. It does look like if you buy the piano and pedal board above, you will not get a music stand. Something to think about. Also would need a bench. This is the closest thing to the package I got. I did not check to see if getting components separately would cost more or less. It looks pretty close. (This is the newer model): http://www.amazon.com/Casio-PX-150-Furniture-Style-Instructional-Polishing/dp/B0094KNIAG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1391002296&sr=8-3&keywords=casio+privia+px130
  11. There's this thing called a dictionary, but to clarify what *I* meant, that would be the guys who don't care one whit what they wear (and I know plenty). Or hate shopping so much that their wives buy their clothes, so indirectly or otherwise they are dressing them. My husband wears work clothes everywhere, and I don't care. Not like we go to the opera or anything.
  12. I thought it was a well known phenomenon that most women dress their husbands. lol!
  13. I do the same three things. Today though, I didn't do the cranberry sauce. I'll get to it in the morning.
  14. In my experience? Repeatedly. I use a hepa filter in my Kirby (Yes, my dealer informs me it's not a shop vac.) and then mop. Then I do it again. Try a shop vac with a drywall specific bag + dust filter. Sorry. :-/
  15. :iagree: This depends very much on where you live. Not one officer around here would think it suspicious that you shot a deer at the side of the road with a handgun. It's a terribly inefficient way to hunt. lol!
  16. I just remembered that I actually know a large family that owns a small bus! lol! I don't think they use it a lot, but I really admire her parking skills.
  17. Not Bill, but I found this: http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Shoppers/Passenger+Van+Safety Looks like overloading is usually the culprit, but honestly it would still deter me. They just look unstable to me. Also: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/rollover/ http://blog.redwoodsgroup.com/2012/02/why-are-12-and-15-passenger-vans-dangerous/ http://www.safetyresearch.net/2012/03/29/nhtsa-issues-eighth-consumer-advisory-about-dangers-of-15-passenger-vans/
  18. Timely topic. I was just thinking today about how much my life resembles the movie "Groundhog Day". :-/
  19. If you really don't want a 12 passenger van, you might have to deal with a roof luggage rack. There is an option though that can fit the rear hitch like a bike rack: http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/57025?feat=5488-GN2&page=thule-665c-transporter-combi&attrValue_0=Black&productId=928531 Oh, and my Traverse has a 3rd row that adults have sat in without complaining or looking squished. It does NOT have much cargo space with all seats in use though. Here's a cheaper option (Just noticed that this is just the bag.): http://www.amazon.com/Rola-59102-Expandable-Hitch-Cargo/dp/B000E7WLJW/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1384271106&sr=1-1 This is the rack itself. I can see using this with bins & bungee cords: http://www.amazon.com/Basket-Style-Bumper-Carrier-Capacity/dp/B000H1S7UM/ref=pd_sim_auto_9 I might get one!
  20. My 13 yo dd is very much like this. So it's not necessarily easier with girls. :-/
  21. I was thinking more like delegating since I have 3 teens and two of them own these profusely shedding dogs, but company does the trick too. :-P At least since my kids are older, very little of it is kid stuff. You might even think my house was clean, but *I* see dog hair everywhere. I vacuumed the place yesterday... sigh.
  22. Well, that was quick! I need some motivation. :-/
  23. I'm aware of that. It's just a strike against it for anyone who might ever get on a bicycle in a tank top. It looks like it would chafe. I still haven't found any info on it's weight. ETA: Okay, it looks like it weighs about 1.5 lbs.
  24. Also, if you were wearing it in the summer with normal summer clothes, it would be VERY noticeable. All the advertisements show people dressed for cool weather. Cool weather here (Michigan) signals the approach of snow and the end of bicycle season (Maybe not if you're in a very urban area).
  25. I want to know how much it weighs. I have shoulder issues, and after a bit even a well-designed crossbody purse gets uncomfortable.
