    We are using 1st and 2nd grades this year. We love it! Always the first thing we do. I thought the spiral would drive me batty so I was hesitant to try it. Turns out we like that. There is something about the LA thats not sitting well with us, but the math we love the math.

    We are LOVING CLE math! It's so easy to be consistent with it because I don't dread the thoughts of math everyday. I have a child in 200 and one in 100. Really hoping we continue to love this.

    What book would be the best to start with a 7 and 8 year old? Are the lab kits good for this age or more geared toward older kids?

    My son couldn't remember all the letter sounds until he was almost 7. I stressed about it and made him cry. Looking back he just needed some time. Take a break. But I do agree The Letter Factory video is good.

    :iagree: Just the other day one of my kids spouted off some random fact about an animal that I didn't know. I asked her where she learned that and and she the Wild Kratts!

    I wouldn't give it to anyone. I'd keep a girls and boys room and use the extra room for something else.

    I went to public school and remember getting my first math textbook in the 4th grade. This would have been in the 90's.

    I take it to mean that the people scheduled for before 10 will need to reschedule and I'd show up at 10:15 for my appointment.

    My daughter is in 2nd and we have used Abeka math from the beginning. I'm thinking of doing Rod and Staff with the next one because I like the focus on just fact learning.

    Bus runs past our house at 6:30am and 4:00pm. School day is from 7:40 to 3:00. Too long for a 5 year old!
