  1. Shouldn't the baby be moving more? He/she is breathing, but so still. Where is the veterinarian? Wendi
  2. In a typical month, about $30 on food and litter. (They also eat veggies and fruits, but I buy those as part of our groceries.) Every couple of months, we buy them a new bed ($16) and some toys ($10). One of our bunnies has a chronic tendency to get upper respiratory infections. She ends up at the vet 2-3 times a year, for a cost of about $75 or so, including medication. Wendi
  3. According to my English teacher in high school, "grey" is considered the correct British spelling, but "gray" is the correct American spelling. I still like to spell it "grey", though. I read too much British literature, I suppose. :D Wendi
  4. Pretty good so far, except for ds's dawdling. We worked out this morning. If he gets all his work done by dinner time, I'll be happy. Speaking of dinner, what should I make? I'm thinking beef and broccoli. And some sugar snap peas. Wendi
  5. Do you use saline nasal spray? I find it very helpful. Wendi
  6. I love giraffes! While we wait for Autumn to deliver, here are some photos of adorable baby giraffes. 40 Photos of Baby Giraffes Wendi
  7. This year, I have discovered the joy of roasting vegetables! :001_smile: Broccoli, green beans, and butternut squash so far. Mmm. Throw in some garlic cloves, drizzle with olive oil, and roast. Add Parmesan cheese at the end if you want. Experiment with seasonings; herbes de provence is yummy. For a very easy dinner, put boneless skinless chicken breasts on a cookie sheet. Add broccoli florets, butternut squash (cubed), garlic cloves, and some fingerling potatoes. Drizzle all with olive oil, and sprinkle with seasoning. Roast at 425 for 25-30 minutes. If you line the cookie sheet with foil, you don't even have to wash anything! I am trying to choose a recipe to make for dinner tonight. DS wants tacos, but I'm in the mood for something else. I just don't know what yet. Wendi
  8. I've not experienced PPD, but I do have OCD, so I know how distressing unwanted thoughts and feelings can be! It sounds like at this point, some counseling might be helpful. :grouphug: Wendi
  9. Very helpful. So, if I'm wearing them with boots, they may look fine. I will try to bring a friend and my boots to try some on. Wendi
  10. I would love to have a pair of skinny jeans to wear with my cowboy boots, to show them off. I also have some cute black suede boots with fleecy fold-down tops that would look cute with skinny jeans tucked in. (I normally wear boot cut.) The problem is, I am not skinny. I wear size 14 jeans. Will I look terrible in skinny jeans? Am I too old (45) for them? Wendi
  11. You should be getting a document every year from your county, telling you how your tax dollars are allocated. Ours is very detailed regarding how much goes to our local school district, community college, library, etc. Wendi
  12. Fun question! I'd love some new Fiestaware pieces, walking/running shoes, another pair of cowboy boots (I'm hooked - now I want a pair of Fatbaby boots), purse, Kindle books gift card, Kindle Fire or other small tablet, workout clothes, another pair of TOMS. I don't know what our budget for Christmas is going to be yet, so I don't know how realistic most of those are. Wendi
  13. Imp, you should know by now that one of the forum rules is that, when cute animals are mentioned, pics must be included. We expect to see a picture soon. :D And what's her name? Wendi
  14. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your joy with us. The pictures are wonderful! :001_smile:  Wendi
  15. We have lost three babies ourselves, all in the first trimester. Wendi
  16. I just splurged on a lovely pair of cowboy boots (that I do actually ride in), so I probably can't get another pair this year, but I like these: Frye boots. But mostly I'm obsessed with cowboy boots now. My next pair will either be these or these. Or maybe these. Wendi
  17. I don't have any direct knowledge or experience with any of the software or other "at home" therapies. I suspect they would not produce the same results as going to a trained psychologist, but I don't know for sure. And I understand they are cheaper than going to a professional. My son did neurofeedback for several months, and felt he had definite improvement in his ability to focus. He also said his brain is "calmer". He is doing better with his schoolwork. The doctor did a qEEG at the beginning (showing significant theta waves in the front of the brain, an indicator of ADHD). He monitored how things were going, asked us for feedback at each appointment, and focused the treatment on different areas of the brain depending on how things were going. He did another qEEG later, which did show some improvement. Wendi
  18. I agree. When we reject non-Christians because they're not acting like Christians, how do we share the gospel? God doesn't require us to clean ourselves up before He loves us. He loves us first. If all Christians push this young woman away, how will she think Jesus loves her? Wendi
  19. Western or English? We are doing Western. Our teacher competes in cutting; it's intense! Wendi
  20. My son and I have been taking horseback riding lessons for 3 months. We love it! Yesterday our teacher told him that he's the best of her students. (She just started teaching over the summer; she's amazing.) I'm really happy and proud of him. (If I could keep my heels down, I'd be doing better than I am. I'm going to work on stretching my calves and Achilles' tendons.) We both love being with the horses and learning to care for them. Wendi
  21. Everyone thinks Jersey is all like the Newark airport or something. Seriously, it's called The Garden State for a reason, people. (My dh is a native of Bergen County.) :001_smile: Wendi
  22. Now I will be up all night wondering if Arizona is cool. :001_huh: :glare: :D Wendi
