  1. I have a brother MFC-9440CN. It is a color laser printer, and it has been one of the best purchases we have made for our hs. I have had it for four years, and have replaced the black toner twice and the color toners once. I print a lot of things, so I think in the long run it has been a better choice for us.
  2. My own mother was killing kittens today. She posted something on Face book, and part of it said, "Time Fly's!".
  3. It's the beginning of a chapter on Music in the Middle Ages(450-1450). The two subtopics on those pages are Gregorian Chant and The Church Modes.
  4. I would buy the rest of the Saxon math and Apologia science books that we would need, and any TOG resource books that I could find.
  5. I was in the same position as you were 13 years ago, and they were willing to let me try to deliver if baby B was still not head down. Luckily for me he decided to flip at about 35 weeks. It was a sleepless night when he did flip, but it made things much easier. I was induced at 36 weeks because twin A's heart rate kept dropping. They had me in sterile c-section room in case they needed to do an emergency c-section. Would they let you try to deliver, but have everything ready to go in case they need to do an emergency c-section? I would ask more questions, and try to find a way they could work with you.
  6. Why not just spread it out over 1 1/2 years. You could easily get two seasons done this year just by going half pace, and then finish up season three the first half of 10th grade. If you have already spent the money on it, why not give it a little longer to see if it will work.
  7. :iagree: I have a ton of these! They hold up very well to my 3 boys who aren't exactly gentle with all of their school supplies.
  8. Are you doing one whole lesson each day? I used AG with my 6th graders this year, so I slowed it down for them. I started season 1 in January and we finished it in May. We didn't do any of the skills support lessons just the regular lessons and the tests. I would have them parse and diagram five sentences each day, so it took them almost two weeks to complete each unit. They learned so much this year. I have been very pleased with AG.
  9. Thanks! I didn't realize there was any free software out there.
  10. That looks like a great site! I'm sure there is a ton of information out there about genealogy, but it's good to get recommendations.
  11. I want to try and do a family tree project with my kids this year. I thought it would be good to have them "interview" their grandparents and great-grandparents to find out more about our family history too. Does anyone have a good way to go about this? I don't just want my boys to ask them, "Where did your family come from?", and then have my grandpa respond,"Germany". I would like them to ask some thoughtful questions that will get us more information. Does anyone have a good list of questions that they could ask? Also, does anyone have a recommendation for good family tree software? I would like this to be an enjoyable project, and not just for me, but for all involved.
  12. I know a lot about my father's family. We can trace one line back to the 1400s in Germany. My 3rd great-grandmother, along with two of her children, was captured by the Dakota Indians during the Dakota Conflict of 1862 in MN. After she was released, she wrote a book about it. I wish I knew more about my mother's family.
  13. You will be about 45 minutes from me! I live east of Rochester, MN.
  14. We are very similar! My mom turned 54 in May and I'll be 34 in December.
  15. It's the only game I play! I'm always Rosalina, and I always use the Wario bike.
  16. When my oldest son was 18 months old he knew his ABCs. He had a little bag of plastic letters that he played with. He would pull the letters out and tell me the name of each one. He had an aunt who was in pre-school at the time, and he picked this up from her. So yes, it's possible.
  17. We use both. I like to write things down, but I really love HST+. I put all of our lesson plans into HST, and then I print out weekly lessons. I write down a lot of my own weekly plans in the Well Planned Day.
  18. We use a family doctor for everything, and we go to the Mayo Clinic which is in a city of about 100,000. I have seen a few specialists when necessary, but we don't have any major health issues either.
  19. I don't have any ideas for you, but I'm trying to stop using Jafra products after ten years. :bigear:
