  1. He definitely sounds like he came your way because the coop looks/sounds familiar. Who could you contact locally who could rescue him or give you some direction? Animal control? If you have a county extension office they likely give you some direction. A local wildlife rehabilitator would be another option.
  2. I've been pretty happy with my GE Profile. I can't get as many dishes in the bottom rack as I could with my Bosch, but on the plus side, it works reliably. Bosch is the brand I'd be hesitant again to buy. We had trouble with ours right out of the box, as in 12 service calls trouble. The racks started rusting and falling apart around the 18 month mark and had to be replaced. Yet my in-laws have one they haven't had any trouble with.
  3. No straps, but my daughter swears by Everlane and Birdies for comfort. https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-day-heel-burnt-light-taupe?collection=womens-shoes-accessories https://birdies.com/
  4. This is what happened with my set. I did fill in a few pieces down the road, and then found a lot on ebay that was quite reasonable.
  5. Are the newer stainless sinks not as durable as older stainless sinks? I have an early 70's sink that has had heavy use and it's not dented at all. There is scratching from normal use but I don't care about that. This thread and the glass stovetop thread are really making me think about redoing my kitchen. It very much needs a makeover, but what was put in there in the early 70's has lasted. Even the laminate butcherblock countertop is still in really good shape. As for cleaning the sink and cooling rack aka grid, I spray it every day or so with diluted Lysol lemon multipurpose cleaner and give it a good scrub once a week. Same as I did before the rack.
  6. Sink grids? I had no idea. For several years I've been using a cooling rack at the bottom of mine because my cat would go fishing around in the garbage disposal in hopes of coming up with a snack. That was bad enough, but once I forgot to put it in and he got a claw stuck. Eventually he worked it free, but it was scary. Off to check out the real sink grid deal.
  7. It's been awhile, but my allergists always had me using PARI nebulizers and they lasted for years. I'm not seeing them on Amazon right now, although I did buy one of their other nebulizers at the start of covid. This company has been around for a long time. https://www.pari.com/us/products/product-guide/ https://www.pari.com/us/inhalation-therapy/
  8. My mom made me oversized cotton blankets for swaddling that stayed in place better than the typical size. Thin cotton, like sheets, so baby didn't get so overheated.
  9. My German family made something similar, only it wasn't a pastry type dough. They were made with extra dinner roll or sweet roll dough. We just called them fried bread.
  10. Our state allows students to carry their own inhalers and epi pens with doctor's note..
  11. My MIL has an older one and it's similarly easy to clean. I was shocked when a bit of pasta water sprayed out and none of the products worked (including the cleaning product packaged with the range.). The industry has done such a disservice to customers promoting these hard to clean , easy to scratch stovetops as the norm.
  12. Same here. I have a three year old GE smooth glass top and it's such a pain to clean. The fact that we're having to use various cleaners, kits and razor blades to clean up something as normal as pasta water is such a disappointment. My old coil stovetop was so easy to clean compared to this.
  13. Quaker Instant oatmeal is high in iron. I discovered that when I was anemic after having one of my kiddos.
  14. Hormel Black Label Microwave Ready bacon is packaged with two thin slices per pocket. I bought it by mistake and it's not a pain to deal with. There is a ridiculous amount of plastic for the number of slices and it's pricey. I'll deal with the mess next time. You can see the packaging here: https://youtu.be/bsPLoL5SA4c
  15. Very likely. Everyone knows that the dish ran away with the spoon.
  16. I had Restless Leg and removing caffeine helped, but it took some weeks for it to settle down. My RLS started when I went on a blood pressure medication.
  17. I'm similarly vaccinated and didn't get covid until right before the holidays this year. I had very brief altered taste a few days after likely exposure, but tested negative. The next symptom that made me think to test again was a runny nose a full week later, at which time I did test positive. Most people I'd heard of at the time were reporting positive tests and symptoms about 3-5 days after being exposed. My symptoms never progressed--just a mild runny nose and felt flushed for a few days. No fever, congestion, cough, etc.
  18. One of my boys laughed himself silly over The Best Christmas Pageant Ever around that age.
  19. I had a cat with a longer fur that had to be put down due to an unexpected health emergency. For some reason I wound up with a clipping of fur, which I saved until a breezy spring day--a day that he would have loved outside. I went out and tossed it around our yard where the nesting building birds might find it.
  20. I started colonoscopies early --- right after my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer and I'm due for #6 sometime soon. They're not fun, but none of them are that bad either. I also didn't do well with Gatorade or other sugary drinks. Herbal tea and homemade chicken broth and water worked best.
  21. What brand flooring are you working with? I'm just starting to consider flooring options.
  22. Check to see if the attorney general of your state has a healthcare fraud hotline.
  23. I grew up with Spitzbuben, Pfeffernusse and rum balls and I've always made them for my family. Spitzbuben, which is a cookie with jam sandwiched in between almond shortbread. My recipe is similar to this one, except we don't do the cutout and ice them with lemon glaze. I usually make Pfeffernusse after Christmas, as I'm the only one who likes them. Rum balls Chocolate Revel Bars Lemon Bars Cranberry Caramel Date Bars Refrigerator Potato Rolls from Betty Crocker
