  1. I received an email this morning from a lady stating this curriculum was based on theistic evolution. I wrote back this was not the case. Does anyone know if this curriculum teaches that theistic evolution is the way God created the world? Also, there are articles bashing this curriculum for error in teaching the truth that the Bible is the inherrent Word of God. I would like to see some reviews to support this new curriculum and find it unfair for others to be bashing it. I looked at the samples and it looks fun for the kids.
  2. Our five year old was bitten about two months ago by our dog. It was accidental, but she still had to have five stitches and now has to have a lasar treatment to fix the scar. He could have bitten her whole cheek off, but he only nipped her. Since it was our dog, we had to quarantine him for ten days to ensure he didn't have rabies. I think it is better to get rid of the dog for the safety of the child. You cannot fix it once it has become a nightmare. We got rid of our dog, even though it was heart wrenching for the rest of the family. I know this decision stinks because I still miss our dog.
  3. For those of you on this board who use Christian Science resources to teach, can you please give me an idea of what you use for the Logic Stage? I know how to plug in the Fulbright books for certain grades. Do any of you use the Van Cleave experiment books? If so, do you have to "fix" anything in relation to Christian beliefs? Thanks so much.
  4. Thank you for the information.
  5. Is Prehistory covering the time period before Sumer and a secular view? What happened to the Kingfisher History Encyclopedia being a resource for the Logic stage? When did it change? I thought the Illustrated Kingfisher was the original main resource. Thanks
  6. I understand you have so much going on with working from home, taking care of the house and kids, plus homeschooling. Our family went to a conference this weekend and one of the suggestions was to make sure you have time to read God's Word everyday. Even if it is only one chapter or a few verses. You should try and see if things get easier. There were lots of ideas on time management. You can go to www. titus2.com and check out their ideas.
  7. I have gone to the grocery store and asked for paper bags when they bagged my groceries. I turn the writing to the inside and wrap the books in a plastic bag, seal it with tape, and then package that bag in the paper bag. I am recycling and saving money. I have ensured the books were okay once they were received and never had a problem.
  8. Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it!
  9. My daughter will be in 4th grade, but is new to FFL. We have used Easy Grammar. Since she is new to the format and I would like to enjoy the time we spend doing FFL together, would it be wise to start in 3 or 4?
