  1. bump- to see if anyone has an input about what the difference is, thanks,
  2. Hi, Has anyone seen the difference between the old and the new editions of Challenging word problems- Singapore? Are they not the same quality in terms of difficulty or have they been completely revised? Some people seem to indicate they are out of print, but I did see a new set. thanks,
  3. Hi, I afterschool my kid and my son goes to a PS but I feel that they lay more emphasis on grammar and less on writing (compared to public schools out here in WA state). He will be beginning First Grade and they will be doing Spectrum writing 2 (that is their school work). They did Spectrum writing Grade 1 in Kindergarten. I am wondering if you think this is adequate. If I do want to supplement, is writing with ease the right thing to do? Also do I need the text book or will WWE workbook alone do? Wondering what you do with the reading lists given? Do you need to get them as well. Is WWE 1st grade the right place to begin or WWE 2nd grade? Thanks to all for your input.
  4. Have you tried minute math? I think that might help to build confidence and also on timings? It is great for summer supplement.
  5. Use Spectrum test prep and if you want additional practice spectrum test practice. I used SPectrum test prep (1-2) and my son it was very similar and scored very well 99% in both English and math. Hope this helps.
  6. Yes, this is so ugly and today I heard on news that there might be another of these deep oil rigs that may not fully pass the test and another disaster such as this could happen again. Shouldn't all such activity be made to stop at least?
  7. couple of times and only find ones that appropriate for his age
  8. Your post is very thought provoking and is making me make a list of my own. Thanks,
  9. Have you tried Punctuation Puzzlers since that is quite concise. The other option may be to use Editor in chief. Both are Critical thinking company books.
  10. I wouldn't take the risk. A friend and a prof passed away drowning in his own pool and he was about 50 years. You never know what circumstances or factors can cause something like that. Why take the additional risk if it can be avoided?
  11. Hello, I read it when reading a review of the WTM book, and initially I was curious but since I joined the group, I have been hooked. I don't post much as I am new but i spend a lot of time reading. This is a great site. Wonderful exchange of ideas -:001_smile:
  12. Kari, I am so sorry to hear of your loss! There is no comfort that can be possibly given to you at this time only may God give you the strength to face it and overcome it. My deepest condolences to you. Thanks also for bringing us to reality in this sad time of your life that school and chores are so secondary. I will try to keep this more in mind from now on. Deb
  13. I am curious as to what age did you start your kids with writing a journal? My son is 6 years. Is that an appropriate time? thanks,
  14. Hi, I had Cigna insurance about 7 years back and their coverage was one of the best. It was so good, they cover everything. I have had good insurance but they seemed to be above everyone. Hope they still as good.
