  1. Division should not be taught as repeated subtraction, for it is repeated grouping or composition. We should be teaching students that we are not taking away but composing as many equal groups that one is contained in another on a basic level, for in the end, it's essential for students to interpret the meaning of their solutions. The measurement model of division is the way to go for it can better help students make sense of division with fractions, integers(pos and neg) etc.
