  1. Hello, my 2 oldest children are almost 2 years apart in age but only 1 year apart in grade level because of their birthday cut off dates for school. I would like to try using Building Foundations for Scientific Understanding by Nebel or the "abridged" version, "Early Elementary Science Education" by Jordan so have have 2 main questions: 1. I have read a lot of reviews about BFSU, ranging from positive to negative. Has anyone used Volume 1 with K-2 and enjoyed it? Are the lessons fun and engaging? I have a teaching background so I don't mind doing some prep work for lessons, but I have read some reviews that say the lessons are "boring." 2. I am considering waiting to start it until next year when my oldest is in 1st grade and 2nd child is in Kindergarten (so we would do all the lessons together and I would maybe just add in some extra writing or extensions for my K student if needed.) I would just do some lighter science curriculum during my oldest's K year. That way I'm not doing different science topics for 2 different kids at the same time when they're only 1 grade level apart. Has anyone else done this successfully with multiple ages? Does it seem like it would work well to try this approach?
