  1. From The OP’s sweet posts over the years, I know she would not condone someone praying out-loud for God to do something about a situation that the person felt uncomfortable asking the driver to do directly. I would think that would be an example of passive-aggressiveness, not an answered prayer. OP, I’m so glad that the prayer was answered. Your post reminded me of something I read recently. “A precise prayer gives Christ the opportunity to remove all doubt about his love and interest. Your problem becomes his pathway. The challenge you face becomes a canvas upon which Christ can demonstrate his finest work. So offer a simple prayer and entrust the problem to Christ.” Max Lucado
  2. Is the neurologist the doctor that hasn’t given you test results? (Or do I have you confused with a another poster? Or the neurologist with another doctor?) no matter what I hope your appointment goes well and you are able to get some answers to these issues.
  3. I grew up in a house with a garbage disposal and a septic tank. It was my parents first experience with that combo and they were nervous at first. They never had any issues. We are a large family. We have lived in a house with septic and garbage disposal with absolutely no issues for a decade. We had the septic tank pumped twice in the time we have lived here. The second time was the summer and there was no mention of any issues due to anything we are doing inside the house. My parents now have a vacation home where we stay with family and my siblings/family. That house is on septic and has no garbage disposal. We complain about it every time we are there. The only thing I know we do differently than folks not on septic is we don’t put egg shells down the garbage disposal. I have no idea wether that is a big deal or not; I just know that is what the builder told my family when he built my childhood home. I just thought it was a general garbage disposal thing until I asked my parents about it when I discovered my husband putting egg shells down the garbage disposal. (We we’re new homeowners in a house that did not have a garbage disposal.)
  4. I know a lifelong Californian who just moved to Slidell. A hurricane would be an awful welcome to Louisiana. Actually, Im hopeful they haven’t moved in yet as my family member, who told me this a few weeks ago, sometimes gets the details/ times wrong.
  5. I live in the US. I had a colorguard test last year. I don’t have a primary doctor and I simply ordered colorguard through its website. PWNHealth help@cologuardtest.pwnhealth.com+1 (718) 210-9716 The results were sent to me via email (actually a link to see the results was sent. Here is what I received when I ordered the test. I’m guessing I may have spoken to someone when I ordered or that I had to answer questions online to make sure I was a good candidate. However, it has been a long year, and I don’t remember those details. Order N0P7SYBK2679P is confirmed! We are glad that you have chosen to take this next step in your healthcare and wellness journey. Next steps - Prepare for the test Click the link below to access your order and review the pre-test instructions. If you have any questions, contact the PWNHealth Care Coordination Team at +1 (718) 210-9716 orhelp@cologuardtest.pwnhealth.com. 6. Praying that everything goes as you want today.
  7. Trinity University is in San Antonio. There is a Trinity College in Connecticut that also offers engineering.
  8. I agree with much of what you said about the history/challenges of the area. However, everything I’ve heard/read from servicemen who served there and families of servicemen who died in Afghanistan has showed disappointment that their service/death was a waste since Afghanistan was basically turned over to the enemy.
  9. I have the regular one and have no trouble reading it. It lights up, so I can read it in the dark. It was a handy-me-down from my adult daughter, who bought the paperwhite one, so she could read in the pool or on a float at the lake.
  10. My current high school senior has a friend who wants to major in engineering at a small school in a warm climate. These are the ones I’ve heard mentioned. Florida Institute of Technology Embry Riddle Mercer Trinity University in Texas (in searching to see where Trinity is I see there is a Trinity College in Connecticut that has engineering.
  11. I sure hope that Covid will have no impact on the 2030 census numbers.
  12. I have a relative who had some issues that were being investigated a few years ago. During that investigative stage, I ended up bringing the relative to the doctor when the primary relative was out of town. The main doctor was out of town also, so the relative saw a new geriatrics doctor. He was convinced the relative had Parkinson’s. However, the relative insisted the main doctor felt it wasn’t that, and the new doctor was a bit pompous and dismissed the other doctor’s opinion . The doctor then went and read the relative’s MRI, which had been done sometime earlier but wasn’t in the record at this office. He came back with a completely different tune and agreed it could be normal pressure hydrocephalus. My relative was then seen by a neurosurgeon who agreed with this diagnosis. The neurosurgeon put in a shunt soon after that and the relative no longer had any of the symptoms that led the doctor to suspect Parkinson’s. My relative is still doing great at age 81.
  13. I have a vaccinated relative who has flown into and out of Tucson multiple times this summer with no issue.
  14. I’m so sorry the loss of health insurance and the job as well the craziness of needing to wait months to apply for this program. I have another suggestion for you, that hopefully should be premium free. One of the other pandemic changes allows unemployed to continue their employer insurances through Cobra for free through September, at least. Here is the phone number and some info. https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ebsa/laws-and-regulations/laws/cobra/premium-subsidy
  15. Here is a website that updates Covid info for the Olympics each day. There have been 3 hospitalizations and none considered. The second quote explains the reason for the first hospitalization was completely precautionary.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.devdiscourse.com/article/sports-games/1674290-factbox-coronavirus-cases-at-the-tokyo-olympics%3famp JULY 29: Pole vaulters Sam Kendricks of the United States and Argentina's German Chiaraviglio have been ruled out of the Olympics after testing positive for COVID-19. Twenty-four people tested positive for the virus, Tokyo organizers said. They also said two Olympic-related people from overseas with COVID-19 have been hospitalized but neither case is serious. JULY 16: A member of the Nigerian Olympics delegation tested positive at Narita airport, media reported. The person, in their 60s, has only light symptoms but was admitted to hospital because of their age and pre-existing conditions, TV Asahi says, adding it was the first COVID-19 hospitalisation of an Olympics-related visitor.
  16. Congrats. Does this great picture mean you were able attend her graduation?
  17. I remember hearing earlier this year that the NCAA now allows student athletes to make money, but I didn’t think about how that could ImpactOlympians until I saw this article. https://sports.yahoo.com/compete-in-college-or-make-millions-in-endorsements-actually-suni-lee-can-now-have-it-all-202301192.html
  18. Makes sense to me. I hope you were able ride other things that she liked.
  19. You should be able to monitor online if Slinky Dog opens, and go back to Hollywood Studios tonight if slinky dog reopens. As long as you are in line at park closing, you will get to ride (barring a breakdown.) you could go back this evening after your pool time to ride other things as Hollywood Studios closes at 8.
  20. My adult kids pay me 20 a month via Zelle for cell phones. (We have a really cheap plan, and it doesn’t make sense for them to get a personal plan as they already have work phones.)
  21. OP. Are you still looking for a hybrid? I have a friend who bought a car from a business that only sells used hybrids and was pleased with the experience. It is in Florida, but my friend bought over the internet after looking at the car (inside and out) via a FaceTime call. The car was then shipped to the friend’s out of state house. Let me know if you want me to find out the name of the business.
