  1. That is great news.
  2. I have a relative who had some issues that were being investigated a few years ago. During that investigative stage, I ended up bringing the relative to the doctor when the primary relative was out of town. The main doctor was out of town also, so the relative saw a new geriatrics doctor. He was convinced the relative had Parkinson’s. However, the relative insisted the main doctor felt it wasn’t that, and the new doctor was a bit pompous and dismissed the other doctor’s opinion . The doctor then went and read the relative’s MRI, which had been done sometime earlier but wasn’t in the record at this office. He came back with a completely different tune and agreed it could be normal pressure hydrocephalus. My relative was then seen by a neurosurgeon who agreed with this diagnosis. The neurosurgeon put in a shunt soon after that and the relative no longer had any of the symptoms that led the doctor to suspect Parkinson’s. My relative is still doing great at age 81.
  3. I have a vaccinated relative who has flown into and out of Tucson multiple times this summer with no issue.
  4. I’m so sorry the loss of health insurance and the job as well the craziness of needing to wait months to apply for this program. I have another suggestion for you, that hopefully should be premium free. One of the other pandemic changes allows unemployed to continue their employer insurances through Cobra for free through September, at least. Here is the phone number and some info. https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ebsa/laws-and-regulations/laws/cobra/premium-subsidy
  5. Here is a website that updates Covid info for the Olympics each day. There have been 3 hospitalizations and none considered. The second quote explains the reason for the first hospitalization was completely precautionary.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.devdiscourse.com/article/sports-games/1674290-factbox-coronavirus-cases-at-the-tokyo-olympics%3famp JULY 29: Pole vaulters Sam Kendricks of the United States and Argentina's German Chiaraviglio have been ruled out of the Olympics after testing positive for COVID-19. Twenty-four people tested positive for the virus, Tokyo organizers said. They also said two Olympic-related people from overseas with COVID-19 have been hospitalized but neither case is serious. JULY 16: A member of the Nigerian Olympics delegation tested positive at Narita airport, media reported. The person, in their 60s, has only light symptoms but was admitted to hospital because of their age and pre-existing conditions, TV Asahi says, adding it was the first COVID-19 hospitalisation of an Olympics-related visitor.
  6. Congrats. Does this great picture mean you were able attend her graduation?
  7. I remember hearing earlier this year that the NCAA now allows student athletes to make money, but I didn’t think about how that could ImpactOlympians until I saw this article. https://sports.yahoo.com/compete-in-college-or-make-millions-in-endorsements-actually-suni-lee-can-now-have-it-all-202301192.html
  8. Makes sense to me. I hope you were able ride other things that she liked.
  9. You should be able to monitor online if Slinky Dog opens, and go back to Hollywood Studios tonight if slinky dog reopens. As long as you are in line at park closing, you will get to ride (barring a breakdown.) you could go back this evening after your pool time to ride other things as Hollywood Studios closes at 8.
  10. My adult kids pay me 20 a month via Zelle for cell phones. (We have a really cheap plan, and it doesn’t make sense for them to get a personal plan as they already have work phones.)
  11. OP. Are you still looking for a hybrid? I have a friend who bought a car from a business that only sells used hybrids and was pleased with the experience. It is in Florida, but my friend bought over the internet after looking at the car (inside and out) via a FaceTime call. The car was then shipped to the friend’s out of state house. Let me know if you want me to find out the name of the business.
  12. thanks for the suggestion. I don’t think that is the reason. It only shows one or two games per day from the entire mlb. Thanks for this info. I am logged into FUbo. I searched Astro’s and nothing comes up. I click on baseball and it shows no games today. Two for tomorrow. None are Astros. I tried searching at&t sports and no luck there either. I also don’t see it under guide. Maybe the trial version doesn’t offer it I wanted Fubo to work, because I have an offer for a discounted price with them for a few months. I may end up with YouTube if I can’t figure out what’s wrong.
  13. How? Where does Fubo carry the Astros? We are doing a free trial of Fubo right now, because i had read it was a good streaming service for watching live sports which is important for our house. We have not been able to find the baseball game we want to watch. I read your post and went to the page where it shows the baseball games showing this week, there are no Astro games either. It shows through the end of weekend.
  14. I’m mainly bumping this for you, because I don’t have a Mac. I do have a portable external hard drive with pictures. I simply use a cord to connect the hard drive to computer and then click on hard drive icon on computer to see the files stored on the hard drive. I open the file that contains the picture I want, and I click on it to open it. Then I can do whatever I want with the picture. That said, I did have a “set of photo files” on my camera SD card that for some reason were set to mac mode and I had to have my daughter with the Mac do something to them, so I could see them on my computer. im guessing my info isn’t helpful, but it will bump your post up this morning.
  15. That is super scary. I’m glad you are okay. We have a Kia hybrid. I’m not the primary driver, but I know the driver has listened to music with the car turned off without the issue you had. So, I do not think there was any user error.
  16. US News has a separate ranking of national liberal arts schools. There are 200+ schools on that list. There are also US News regional rankings for schools not on the national lists. There are 4. Best Regional Colleges Rankings These colleges focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines. These rankings are split into four regions: North, South, Midwest and West.
  17. Were there a row of these on the hall? Sorry, Im having trouble picturing this for some reason. I think it is fine to eliminate a school/dorm from a student’s list if this kind of arrangement isn’t what your student wants. Different strokes for different folks.
  18. I have not used it. I agree that webpage doesn’t show much details. This one may give more info. https://gpb.pbslearningmedia.org/collection/kenburnsclassroom/film/the-war/ My in-laws liked it, however, they probably aren't the best judge for a class resource. A quick look shows BBC also has a video series on WW2. Also check this, https://www.thoughtco.com/top-best-world-war-2-documentaries-1221219
  19. Is this community bathrooms that are co-ed? Or suite style? I remember reading here years ago about someone‘a student whose college that had coed community baths. In that case, the toilet area (and I guess shower too) were private and self-contained stalls with full doors and walls.
  20. My assumption would be the provider sent bill before insurance paid. I would wait to receive another bill from provider before doing anything.
  21. Glad you are having a fun visit.
  22. I’m glad your daughter has found a way to check out the schools she is interested in. My son has not been able visit any schools yet, so I’ll have him check out if his schools have virtual sessions. When he was younger, He did go on college visits with older siblings.
  23. I don’t know anything about about western carolina, however, my homeschooler applied to/attends a university that only required test scores and a transcript; so that is all I sent. The lack of course descriptions, etc, did not hurt him, and he received a full ride. since I don’t know anything about this school, I did a quick search. And, I guess the moral of the story is don’t believe everything you read. this is from campusreel.com Western Carolina University ACT Requirements Western Carolina University’s average ACT score is 67. To be a competitive applicant for Western Carolina University your ACT score should come close to the average. If you’re closer to the 59, you’re likely going to have a tougher time getting accepted. To consider Western Carolina University a “target” school (one that you have a good chance of getting into) you should aim for a score of 75. ….other sources were just as confusing, and the acceptance rates given for the school range from 40-something to 79 percent.
  24. When two of my kids were getting braces, at least one orthodontist quoted both traditional and Invisalign, with Invisalign a little more. we went traditional. Another two missed the traditional braces time, so we went the Invisalign route. Through SmileDirect it was less expensive than the traditional braces had been. YMMV as the older ones needed less work than the younger kids. It is working as one of the older kids had a crooked tooth that was out of place and it is now in a different place, not quite right yet, but getting close.
