  1. I'm kinda off the blog wagon right now. I loved doing Memory Monday, but always felt I was talking to myself! thanks so much for remembering them!
  2. Thank You Ladies!!!! So many awesome choices. Now to figure out which one I will make!
  3. I worked on the patio this afternoon filling one more trash bag. I also worked in the garage--emptying three boxes and making two piles of stuff to give to two different families. I also found two things to sell on the boards here. And most importantly! I took my give-away stuff to Salvation Army--5 bags. And then I took 2 boxes of homeschooling books to the used bookstore at the library.
  4. Haven't been to any you listed in a very long time. My favorites are Togos, Chipotles, and Sharkys.
  5. Anyone have a pumpkin cheesecake recipe they have made and loved? I would love to make one for guest next week, but won't have an opportunity to try it out before hand. Whatcha got?
  6. The roasted turkey breast with cornbread stuffing was the sample today. I am feeling tempted. It was really good!
  7. Salad Bar with some grilled chicken Sandwiches--subs, PB, hummus with grilled veggies Waffles with hashbrowns (both made on waffle iron) Baked Potatoes made in crockpot or microwave Hot Dogs with Baked Beans prepared on grill
  8. I did the closet over the weekend, so today I worked on my patio. I filled a trashbag and will do the same again tomorrow. I had each of my girls work on their closets---they did great! We also started on a bathroom/hallway project. I saw this great idea on pinterest a while a go. I ran across magnet boards for one dollar each at Micheals soon afterwards. They have been waiting in the hallway to be hung up in the bathroom. We had fun magnetizing our makeup and now we have two empty drawers. And I'm hoping a cleaner counter each morning!
  9. For our short term 72 hour kits, I've recently discovered GoPicnic I've bought them from both Amazon and Costco. I like that they aren't as junky as most things one finds in 72 hour kits, and they have gluten free and vegan options. In addition to the GoPicnic kits, I supplement with instant oatmeal, baked beans, beef jerky, dried fruits, luna bars and cliff bars.
  10. For long term storage I like Thrive I have tried and enjoyed (all freeze dried versions when you have a choice between dried and freeze dried) Applesauce Blackberries Mango Pineapple Peach Slices Strawberries Egg Noodles Cornmeal Quick Qats Carrots Onions Cauliflower Potatoes--Chunks and Diced (though the chunks were not much bigger than the diced) Mushroom pieces Instant Milk Shredded Cheddar Cheese Black Beans Butter (works for baking--not good for slathering on bread) Fudge Brownies Macaroons Both of these are too die for! but very expensive. Things I've tried and didn't enjoy Sour Cream Powder--this worked to use in baking, but didn't taste good in dip Chicken Bouillon Chicken Chunks---I don't really like chicken that much, so that could be why I didn't enjoy this. It just seemed really bland to me. Mandrin Oranges--which I see they no longer sell. They turned into a sticky mess soon after opening the can. Over-all this is the best company I've tried out. I also like that you can sign up to receive an automatic shipment each month. Check to see if there is someone selling it local to you. Parties are a great way to try out different foods.
  11. He would be in 7th grade. K=5yo 1st=6yo 2nd=7yo 3rd=8yo ect. This can vary by a year or so because each school district determines exact age cut-off. Where we live now kids usually graduate around age 18. Other places I've lived 17 is the norm.
  12. :iagree: I've figured out over the years that curriculum isn't as important as I once thought. It is only a tool to teach the skills needed.
  13. I did my kitchen freezer on Friday. Anyone know how to get sticky berry syrup something off the floor of the freezer without turning off and warming up the freezer? Today, I cleaned my room. Decided to turn on something on netflix while I cleaned. Watched Hoarders for the first time in my life! OH MY! Watch it if you need motivation to get rid of stuff! I purged two large trashbags from my room and closet! Can't wait to see next week's list!
  14. Where I live in CA (Ventura) fits your criteria except for seasons. The weather here usually isn't warm--when the temp is above 75 people melt as no one has AC. And it doesn't snow, but we can see the snow in the mountains as we stand next to our palm trees. And we can drive to the snow! So everything else fits.
  15. Keep in mind that in addition to hostels, many monastaries and convents open their doors to travelers as well. My dh and I stayed near Vatican City in a convent. It was an amazing and budget friendly option.
  16. Didn't get to anything yesterday--knew I wouldn't. Today, I did all but one shelf in our kitchen pantry and was able to clean up the food shelves in the garage. Found the veggie broth my dd was looking for just yesterday! We looked and looked and looked! :tongue_smilie: I will start on my freezers tomorrow as I don't think my fridge needs much work, but my kitchen freezer is full of scary stuff!
  17. I hate this as well! I refuse to buy an extra book for myself--instead I have to sit next to the kid with their book and my TM. Drives my crazy!
  18. Could I get the recipe for the roast onions in rosemary cream sauce? Sounds super yummy.
  19. Salad, chickpea curry, and fried rice. Took me all day to figure that out!
