  1. I have not posted incorrect info.
  2. I get that, but the jury is still out on a lot that many people want to know before they get vaccinated, and rightfully so. After all, health experts are still recommending that vaccinated people wear masks in public because “more research is needed to confirm whether vaccinated people can spread the virus and variants become more prevalent in the U.S.” (article from USA Today earlier this week.) so yes, it appears that transmission is greatly reduced, but we just honestly don’t have a lot of super solid long term evidence for ANY of this! How can we at this point?!
  3. You don’t think so? The Great Barrington Declaration was written by Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Dr. Sunetra Gupta and Dr. Martin Kulldorff. I just looked up their credentials: British infectious disease expert Professor Sunetra Gupta, Stanford University researcher and Professor of Medicine Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, and biostatistician Dr. Martin Kulldorff. All three have loads of professional experience in infectious disease. Dr. Kulldorff works on research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration and the non-profit Fund for Public Health in New York City, some of which is related to COVID-19. He has never accepted or received any funding from pharmaceutical companies, nor from any other large corporation. Dr. Bhattacharya research funding over the past 22 years of his career has come almost entirely from grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the US Department of Agriculture, and participation on contracts with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) via a government contracting research group, Acumen, LLC. He has never accepted or received any funding from pharmaceutical companies, nor from any other large corporation. Dr. Gupta’s research funding over the last 30 years has principally been through fellowships and investigator awards from the Wellcome Trust and the European Research Council.  She has also received funding from the UKRI, the Royal Society, the Leverhulme Trust, the Emily and Georg von Opel Foundation and the Oxford Martin School. She and Dr. Craig Thompson have developed a novel method for producing a universal influenza vaccine (derived from a mathematical model) and this has now been licensed and is going through early testing. She does not hold any consultancy contracts or stock shares in any commercial company. See, to me, this goes back to the very hubristic “my experts know more than your experts; I’m right, you’re wrong.” These people have the right to express their (expert) opinion, and other people have the right to agree with them.
  4. (CDC Chief is a she.) that is true, butttt there have been a noticeable tick in cases of “breakthrough” cases (aka getting Covid despite being vaccinated), which is discouraging. Yes, but if you read the article I linked, they do a real deep dive into the evidence and conclude that “immunity caused by natural exposure remains the most robust and durable and successful manner to protect the population.” ——- I’m not saying you’re wrong. But I’m also not confident enough to say that the (many) doctors, scientists, researchers, etc. who have a different viewpoint are wrong, either. I really strongly despise the “anti-science” malarkey. There is actually a lot of science rejecting the mainstream view and that’s OKAY. If everything was an echo chamber, we’d never learn anything new or have new theories. And the people who choose to follow a dissenting viewpoint are okay, too. It’s not like they are listening to a circus clown or a teenage grocery story clerk. There are lots of credentialed, knowledgeable professionals out there who aren’t getting the vaccine, or aren’t getting the vaccine yet, or see potential problems with the vaccine, and, again, that’s okay. Great, even. I’m a big fan of robust debates and different opinions, because I feel like it’s the only way science advances.
  5. Thanks. That’s interesting and helpful.
  6. Sorry, I should clarify that I wasn’t referring to this board attacking people. I meant “in real life” and on social media. 2. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has walked back the claim made by its director that vaccinated people don’t carry the coronavirus. CDC chief Rochelle Walensky said earlier this week that “vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick.” But the health agency clarified the statement Thursday, saying “the evidence isn’t clear” and that Walensky was “speaking broadly.” “It’s possible that some people who are fully vaccinated could get COVID-19,” a CDC spokesperson told the New York Times. “The evidence isn’t clear whether they can spread the virus to others. We are continuing to evaluate the evidence.” (That was an excerpt from the NY Post a few days ago.) https://nypost.com/2021/04/02/cdc-walks-back-claim-that-vaccinated-people-cant-carry-covid/ 3. I have seen a number of doctors opine that natural immunity is preferable to vaccine immunity, which they postulate will wane more quickly and respond differently than a broader natural immunity. Here is one such take. https://www.aier.org/article/if-you-had-covid-do-you-need-the-vaccine/ I just hate the term “the science is settled”, because I don’t think we can make statements that we really KNOW anything right now. The data is constantly changing. And I hope scientists continue to study and learn how the vaccines work, how our natural immunity works, how the virus works. In any case, I am certainly understanding of those who have had the virus and are choosing to forgo the vaccine for that reason.
  7. Not gluten free, but it is flourless. It uses a variety of sprouted seeds and grains. Like I said...not great plain. Pretty good toasted and with a healthy dose of butter/PB/jam, etc. 😉 you can freeze homemade bread! Agreed it lasts better that way. and yes, the white whole wheat flour is yummier than standard...basically 5astes like white bread. Sourdough is another delicious option that is healthier than regular bread, though doubtful that packaged sourdough bread actually contains the beneficial sourdough starter, unlike homemade bread.
  8. We eat and like Dave’s, although I’ll sometimes get the Brownberry Organic bread, too. We get the kinds with all sorts of seeds and nuts in them. However, I think the healthiest bread is probably the Ezekiel kind. It’s sprouted and contains really healthy ingredients. Unfortunately, my kids don’t like it. 😉 They prefer bigger and softer slices. It’s good toasted, though!! (I agree with them that it isn’t super great untoasted.) Or you could make your own! We don’t do it as often as I’d like, but my family looooves homemade bread. The reason I don’t do it as often is because the kids will devour an entire loaf in minutes flat. But you can control the ingredients, and it’s easy. Takes a little time, but most of that time is inactive.
  9. My chiropractor has helped me so much with chronic headaches. I almost never get them anymore. She also helped me have a much easier and more comfortable pregnancy then I’ve had in the past, despite being older. 😝 I actually started taking my son after I saw a testimonial on her site about helping a 13 year old bed wetter stop having accidents after nothing else stopped. He is younger than that, but has consistently wet the bed his whole life. He hardly ever wets anymore...he’s only been going about a month, and since that time has wet the bed once or twice, after wetting 4-5x/week before that. Pretty cool. She said his spine was out of whack from his birth, most likely, which was making him overcompensate by holding his hips weird, which was pinching nerves in his bladder. Or something like that. Haha. I just looked her up and she did not graduate from a Palmer school. She uses “torque technique”. I don’t know if that’s helpful, but I think if you ask around locally, you’ll get good answers. I had seen other chiros in the past without much noticeable difference, but this one came recommended by multiple friends and family members. I have since referred about half a dozen people to her myself, and they are all happy with her, too, with a wide range of issues! Good luck!
  10. Mix it into a tub of vanilla ice cream...voila, chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.
  11. I personally prefer a more minimal look...sometimes curtains can look heavy and frou frou to me. We have cellular shades in all the kids’ rooms, and I like them unadorned.
  12. No positive test, but almost positive we had it in February 2020, shortly before it blew up. Husband had been traveling and in and out of international airports. He had to come home early from his business trip because he was sure he had the flu. However, he went to get tested and it was negative for influenza. They obviously weren’t even thinking about Covid yet, even though it was only about 3-4 weeks before the shutdown. I got sick a few days after him, and my mom got sick a few days after me. Her doctor said he is certain she had it, based on symptoms. We were all different. Husband felt like he had the flu for about 2 days...fever and tired, achy. However, it was less severe than flu and lasted shorter. I would say only one day of actually feeling really bad. i felt like I had an awful head cold. It lasted about a week. Never really got me down...I kept going about my business (and going out in public, oops!), but it just felt like a bad cold that lingered longer than my usual 2-3 day colds. my mom didn’t really ever feel sick at all, but she had a cough that lasted quite awhile and lost her sense of smell for almost 6 months. none of my kids got sick at all. Zero symptoms of anything. my brother had confirmed Covid several months ago, and he felt like he had the flu for a day. His wife and kids did not get sick.
  13. Thanks! I’m calming down now. 😅
  14. Yeah, good to keep in mind. It just made sense to me. I guess because it wasn’t in the midst of a flu pandemic? And a lot of people don’t get the flu shot? Idk!
