  1. I used to use babyganics because, although it takes forever to rub in, it was the best at disappearing. Not great, but adequate. After an entire year of buying a million mineral sunscreens, I stumbled on Badger baby sunscreen! No white residue, rubs in quickly, still no white residue, makes my face feel soft and happy. BUT, it is made with oils so maybe people would break out if prone to that kind of thing. Best thing for me is to leave a bottle in the car and use it before I start driving or before I leave the car to do whatever in the sun. https://www.badgerbalm.com/products/baby-sunscreen-mineral-zinc-oxide-spf-40
  2. Went to a big high school and didn’t really know too many in my graduating class. This must have been common because the school (or whomever organizes this stuff) went to 3-year chunks for reunions. I have very little interest in going and continually forget about them. fwiw, no invitations get sent out for ours, you have to belong to their Facebook page where they announce reunions 🤷🏻‍♀️
  3. Probably not a bug - you feel them AND hear them, right?
  4. I don’t have any details on what kind of siding, but BIL just got a quote for $60k on his 3000 sqft house here in Colorado, so 🤷🏻‍♀️
  5. “Ms. Van Houten continues to lack sufficient insight into the risk factors that led to her violent conduct in the past and the skills to protect against her becoming susceptible to similar pressures in the future," the governor said in his Tuesday decision.” How is she supposed to gain these skills in a prison setting? Isnt it common knowledge that our prison system doesn’t effectively rehabilitate people just by making them sit in prison? It’s like a big, long Go-to-your-room-and-think-about-what-you’ve-done kind of thing. (Not that I’m saying prison is a cushy place to be) Plus, didn’t she already renounce Manson and take full responsibility for her actions 10 years ago? Also, how common is it for a governor to reject the parole board’s decision? Is he that intimately familiar with the case and the parolee? Is this is area of expertise? Why have a parole board? To me, knowing absolutely nothing about anything, this reeks of somebody’s money keeping this woman in prison for their own reasons.
  6. Let me say that I understand where you’re coming from, I’m not trying to be mean. What do you think could happen in this situation that is making you nervous? For what it’s worth, I just rented out a house for $400/mo to somebody who couldn’t afford anything else because I had it sitting empty for a few months and I wanted to give somebody the opportunity to have somewhere to live. No references from either of us, no background check, just hey, you want to stay here? Idk, but I promise, it seemed very red-flaggy.
  7. Herman miller Aeron has a size C, but it is pretty generous, so you’d have to try one out somewhere. Amazing chairs, lifetime warranty. if you’re not in the market to spend $1600 and can’t find a used one, get a gaming chair! They are specifically designed for long hours at the computer and many come in big/tall sizes. Still looking @$500, or so, but we learned it is the thing that makes or breaks somebody who sits at a computer for long hours.
  8. I am also trying to deal with this flooring issue and I have been saying that the vinyl stuff has the wrong feel and sound and people - salesmen, mostly - are absolutely telling me it’s all in my head. So thanks to some of you for at least thinking the same thing even though I may be wrong. Also of interest to me is the fact that it seems as though places just simply do not want to deal with hardwood. I had one chain company just straight tell me that I would be happier with vinyl, *maybe* engineered and I shouldn’t even consider wood even though I specifically went in there to look at some oak. The cost difference to me is about $2k, maybe they make way less profit? Who knows, just weird.
  9. A clockwork Orange. Fine, it’s not a musical, I guess, but a great soundtrack. The magic flute! You’re right, not a musical. Hair!! eta: Evil Dead, the musical!
  10. Honestly, the roads look ok from here but they’ll probably be icy in places at night. Fwiw, 4wd doesn’t prevent you from sliding around, it mostly just helps you get unstuck once things go wrong. Unless it’s a total disaster mess and everybody is going 10-15mph. I want to say just take it slow, but that’s easier said than done when there are people behind you who push you into going faster 😞 if you have any doubt about anything and you can swing it, I would stay until daytime because I’m old and now I say better safe than sorry. Most of the time.
  11. Cotrip.org has alerts and videos that will show you what it looks like. Are you used to mountain driving? Snow? Mountain show? In the dark? Your windshield wipers are great? Tires ok? Extra water/blankets/flashlights and power? I can say yes to all of those and I still had an... exciting... time this weekend on I-70, of all places.
  12. I see $3.54-$3.90 here in the city, but I passed through keystone on Sunday and it was $4.80!! Yet only $3.80 15 minutes away!
  13. I love that so many of us have been in this situation 😂 I would start with, “I want you to know that I love you to death, you’ve been so great to our family, and I really value our friendship, but kiddo wants to continue lessons with this other guy and this is the most awful thing I’ve ever done and I really hope you’re not mad because I like you but now we can just be friends without me paying you!” I’m awkward.
  14. I’m so sorry it came to this. My only advice is to remind yourself that it is normal to mourn the loss of a relationship, even if you’re in a better place now ❤️
  15. I think always, or at least the last 20 years that I can recall. It’s just more awkward now because instead of choosing to leave a tip, you have to choose to NOT leave a tip.
  16. Last week, I learned the hard way that words can have a repeated letter 🙄😔
  17. It’s dead silent here at 4:30am except for the coyotes! 😄
  18. We are only getting less than an inch today, so not exactly a storm 😛 Which is fine because I have to drive halfway across the state tomorrow morning before dawn!
  19. I know it’s not ymca, but the Jewish camp here is $1465-4800 for the week depending on grade level (all one-week camps). I briefly considered Epsilon camp (math) for this summer and it was close to $6000 for two weeks, but that includes the mandatory parent, as well. I think it would be fun, but is it $6k fun??
  20. My neighbor says the option to use Venmo balance pops up for her when she goes to pay friends, sorry I can’t help more
  21. There’s an “identity verification” button in the settings menu - does that work? we chose not to, we just dump the money in the bank and pay out of the bank because we don’t care
  22. Found it ”...but you cannot use the money in your account to make payments on Venmo until you verify your identity.” https://help.venmo.com/hc/en-us/articles/217042588-Money-in-Your-Venmo-Account-and-Venmo-Balance
  23. I’m pretty sure this has to do with verifying your identity. They changed the rules recently so that until you are verified, all money comes from your payment source instead of any balance. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea, sorry 😞
  24. Pesto! Lots of lovely, different kinds. cacio e pepe Browned butter and Mizithra aglio e olio Mushroom stroganoff
