  1. Not using a graphing calculator because you do the graphing by hand is very different from not using a graphing calculator because you uploaded a photo of the problem into Easymath or another math app. I am guessing you and your kids don’t do the latter.
  2. I would get an iphone, set it up so permission is needed to download apps, and then delete any browsers. I say this assuming that when you say "no internet" what you mean is "no browsing the internet" and that other internet functions like mapping routes, and updating the software, and maybe storing photos to the cloud or finding the phone if lost are fine.
  3. I'm not arguing that one is better, but I'm having trouble imagining this blanket that's the same weight as two sheets, and the same texture as a sheet, and stands up to washing like a sheet, and is as warm as a duvet between two sheets.. Can you link one? Maybe I'm buying the wrong blankets, because that sounds wonderful!
  4. I think we might be twins separated at birth.
  5. Well yes, but the entire duvet cover conversation started with me saying I sew flat sheets together to make them. So, mine are the weight of 2 sheets. A blanket that light wouldn't be warm enough. But blankets are itchy or fuzzy. They don't feel good next to the skin. Who would want to sleep under just a blanket? Sheets are smooth and cool and feel good against the skin. The duvet cover is the same. Also, blankets collect dust.
  6. Yes, but I can wash 3 beds worth of sheets and duvet covers worth of sheets in one load. But if I had blankets, it would take multiple loads, and given that we wash the kids sheets multiple times a week due to dust and pollen that's a big difference. Plus, if you untuck the sheets every night, because of picky toes, then it's harder to remake the bed to the point that it's comfortable to get back in and sleep with a sheet and a blanket then with a duvet. If you leave the duvet crumpled up on the top bunk of your bunk bed, you can still crawl in bed and it's comfy. And if you want it to look good (which I admit I don't actually care about that often), you pick up the bottom of the duvet and shake it once. There is no way that isn't much faster than tucking in and making hospital corners.
  7. Because of allergies and a dog we launder bedding kind of obsessively. In my experience the extra 5 minutes to shove the duvet in and the extra 1 minute to shake the duvet out of the cover are made up because you can make the bed in a nanosecond. Plus, since I hate the feeling of a tucked in sheet, if the sheet and the duvet aren’t attached to each other you end up with wrinkles or the two of them sliding in opposite directions which is less comfortable.
  8. My toes are very opinionated. They do not like their freedom being impinged upon!
  9. This is definitely true in my experience! Also some kids with ASD and other disabilities who have poor proprioception in their mouth will reject soft or bland food because they need a lot of taste and texture to help them keep track of food in their mouth.
  10. There are ingredients where precision matters, but parsley isn’t usually one. I’d use about half a bunch and not bother with a cup. My kid was majorly Gordon Ramsey obsessed for a while so I have seen all his videos. I have never seen him measure parsley either.
  11. As an American, I can think of many legitimate things to judge my culture for but using the flat sheets for drop cloths or curtains isn’t on the list.
  12. I don't use them on the beds. We all sleep with a bottom sheet, pillow case, and a duvet. I've made duvet covers with them, and curtains. One of my kids is very allergic to dust so we have simple cheap curtains we can wash every time we wash the sheets, as opposed to fancier ones. Otherwise they become drop cloths for painting, or art, or under the highchair if we're eating at my in laws who have a rug in the dining room. There is also one whose purpose in life is to be made into forts.
  13. That looks delicious! Maybe I will ask for that for my birthday!
  14. We had grilled leg of lamb, brown sugar mustard glazed tofu, mac and cheese, spinach salad with berries, asparagus, carrots and radishes, artichokes, and cheesecake. It all turned out well.
  15. Can I get a recipe for frozen limeade pie?
