  1. Jann I would be so hurt and in tears as well. This has all been handled so poorly by everyone. Lots of hugs and I do hope today is better.
  2. How have things been since the wedding? Do you see her often or has he limited your contact? Not only was his comment mean but it just screams abuser to me. I hope your SIL is far kinder than his horrible father.
  3. This was my reaction to reading the thread too. I am in the same position.
  4. Underwear Bras Mattress Personal care items Car Seats Probably some other things I haven't thought of, but these things come immediately to mind.
  5. Why? It would never occur to me to buy one used, but is there a reason not to?
  6. She is perfectly adorable! I hope you can meet her very soon.
  7. I have never tried mac and cheese with vegan cheese but really want to. My favorite vegan cheese is Chao and that is the one I would want to try in mac and cheese. I hope someone has been successful and will share what worked. Most vegan cheese is just not good to me, Chao is really good!
  8. I am so sorry about all of this. I have been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. Many hugs.
  9. Please don't feel foolish. There is no reason to at all. However, I do understand you needing to work on contentment, I need to do the very same thing.
  10. There is so much I want to say but just don't want it on the internet for the world to see given how personal it is. But yes, I do long very much long for a few things, some material and some not. It is hard. Very hard.
  11. This thread desperately needs a LOVE button!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Went to yoga this evening. 1 hour later and I feel much better. Definitely getting back to my daily yoga routine.
  13. Great idea. I think I need twinkly lights. Where do you have yours hanging?
  14. This thread has been so calming and peaceful to read. I wish there was a daily thread for this topic. I read, a lot. I decided to put off cleaning until tomorrow because it has been a very stressful week or so and I needed to regroup. Teen made us chili and bread for lunch. I had a giant mug of coffee followed by a giant mug of tea. I have missed several days of yoga (see prior paragraph...it has been a stressful week) which has done nothing but make everything worse. So tomorrow I shall get back to my daily yoga routine.
  15. Obviously food is on my mind. I hate all things pumpkin spice. Just gross.
  16. Vanilla over chocolate. I know I am in the minority on this. I do love chocolate too though.
  17. This is all that matters. You love yours and they make you happy. Truly that is wonderful.
  18. I can't remember everything I have read and don't want to quote too many people so I am going to wing it with what I do remember: --Love that CA is teaching cursive. My kids all learned it and it has bothered me for years that it wasn't being taught. I believe it is an important skill. --Cake over pie, always. --The 80s did have the worst of everything: music, movies, fashion. It was a "blech" decade in every way. --I am not a fan of tattoos. They don't age well and all of them, in my opinion, end up looking tacky and messy. --Never have I seen a movie that was better than the book. Books rule every time! --Cheesecake is wonderful, call it whatever you want, it is delicious and perfect. --Cilantro is so so good. --Not a fan of either Star Trek or Star Wars (to the horror of my Star Wars loving kids).
  19. I agree. I love the cooler weather, Autumn is my favorite season (followed closely by Winter), and October is my very favorite month. But gosh, losing the light is really depressing. The older I get the more I need the light. I used to love the dark, funny how that changed.
  20. I think the thing I want to stress is that grandparents can live close by and have next to no relationship with their grandchildren and others can live far away and be very close. The wonderful thing about the internet era is that it provides so many wonderful ways to stay in touch. My children grew up with both sets of grandparents living less than 40 min away and none of them were interested in being involved in the kids' lives. Growing up my grandparents lived across the country and went out of their way to be involved and show love to their grandchildren. I am positive that you will be a loving involved grandparent and your grandchildren will know you and love you just as much as you know and love them. Being creative, flexible, and having a loving heart will ensure a fantastic relationship with them.
  21. Sending lots of good wishes and hope it goes well!
