  1. In general, ADD minds are wired as VSL, and CAPD is easy to confuse with ADD, so yes, they are all similar/tied together.
  2. The classic allergist line is, "Reactions trump results." If she got better on no dairy, then she may be sensitive to dairy in some way. My oldest tested negative on the skin test but positive on a scope biopsy (dairy allergy as allergic esophagitis instead of the classic allergy). Are you keeping the cat and dog? Ds also tested positive to dogs and severely allergic to cats, and we have the Family Cat. After a couple of months to adjust to the idea we are looking for a retirement home for him among our friends.
  3. Technically, my ovaried baby has been listening in on school for the last several months, so she should be okay. Right? Right?!?!?!?!?! Wait, I forgot that we don't do Latin OR Greek here. Drat. She'll only know mathematics and science and some phonics. Foiled again.
  4. We've had two shipments arrive at about the four week mark, and two shipments take closer to two weeks. (We have three glasses wearers in the house, and one is severely ADHD. We go through a lot of her glasses no matter what, lol.)
  5. I was a bit put off by the 3-4 weeks with Zenni, until I called Costco and they said it would be 3 weeks before they would have glasses ready for me, too. O.o We use Zenni here exclusively now. They are a little less nice than the regular glasses, but as my kids kept breaking the nice regular glasses anyway (including mine!!) and Zenni's work great at a tiny fraction of the cost, we're sticking with Zenni.
  6. You can have him teach YOU how to do it sometimes. That will ensure he is actually understanding what is going on.
  7. I don't care about the cycle, lol. We combine for Circle Time (poetry, scripture, ASL, yoga, calendar, etc), history, audiobooks/read-alouds, and we did combine for science but my older is several grade levels above her age in science so now she's too far ahead for my younger to grasp.
  8. For me, religion is the why and science is the how. They teach different things. I use secular science and we talk ourselves about how wonderful it is that God made the world in this amazing, complicated, fantastic way.
  9. Peggy Kaye's Games for Math and the Family Math series both use a ton of math games to teach.
  10. We've had horrific pollution inversions here in Utah (it's been in the news a LOT) and The Love's allergist wants him on his full regime of allergy/asthma medications until spring and then see if he's better without the pollution.
  11. I am a bad mom, lol. I either send him off with the K'er once she is done (and next year she'll be in classes three days a week, eeeeeeep what will I do?!) or let him play on the iPad. He loves the preschool apps. Otherwise it's a constant (wonderful but draining) stream of "read to me!!!" "Starfall!" "Math!!!" "MathRider!!" "Read it!!" "Jupiter book!" "Saturn! Read Saturn!" over and over and over and over and over, lol. I did pull out a preschool curriculum and tried that, and he was so enamoured with it that he refuses to let me switch to the next week and wants to do apple activities and read apple books over and over and over, lol. And he likes to play outside, but our yard is still half buried in snow and he's not a fan of that, so he keeps trying to play in the driveway or the street, sooooo nope.
  12. Ours is in a hard case, lol. He loves the preschool apps. He will only play with toys or draw for a couple of minutes tops before he's climbing on top of me literally.
  13. Water play, paint, sending a sibling to play with him, iPad.
  14. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) I am so sorry, honey.
  15. I completely abuse iPad privileges with my 2-year-old. Bad me. Plus I'll bring out toys he hasn't used in a while. But mostly when the K'er is done, I send her to play with him so I can finish with the older girl who needs more attention.
  16. Drive (we mainly listen in the car), knit, or cook/prep. Or fall asleep to them.
  17. How far along are you? Baby should be popping out in a month or two! The Love thinks she will come out my belly button, heehee. Do you know what you are having?/Are you going to find out? Girl! We're practiced at that, lol. Have you talked names yet? Finally picked one in the third tri! Have you done any shopping? We still have a ton from the other kids. I did get a new stroller since we killed our old one, lol. We don't do nurseries--we cosleep and such. How was your last appointment or when is your first appointment? I'm on bi-weekly appts. Wooooo. I see a midwife as I'm planning a homebirth, but I also see a regular family doc in case we end up needing a transfer.
  18. Dd loved preschool, but it was just two hours three days a week and she was hardcore sensory seeking in most areas.
  19. Weird. I got an email about a back order, and got two shipping notices for my two boxes.
  20. We did the 1/2 of a Red Bull trial with dd, who was much younger. She came out of quiet time and calmly asked me to teach her how to read, lol. She was put on the lowest dose of Adderall, and it made an instant difference, and it worked well for a year or so, and then we had to go up to 10 as the lower dose had been working less and less until it was not doing anything, plus it had always worn off by noon, and the 10 lasts all day. She can think, and pay attention, and do one problem after another without needing me to point her back at her paper mutiple times each problem, and no do headstands in the middle of math, and she's not running into the street and otherwise constantly endangering her life, etc. She needs it.
  21. I like the princess books by Gail Carson Levine, and The Paper Bag Princess. The Little Princess is all those things, but also a bit depressing for young kids.
  22. I ordered for this year LAST year, lol. I just need a few things--to print out and bind our MEP for next year, to get Beast Academy 3C/3D since those weren't ready when I bought the first two, McHenry's Cells program, and I might try Essentials in Writing for my oldest and LoE Foundations for my younger. All I really bought this year was BFSU 2 and a couple other McHenry programs plus supplies.
  23. Plus how they would say you could not even give it to someone else. If you bought it and were done, your own only option with their non-legal policy was basically to shred it. Not cool.
