  3. Since we were not able to get a spot to take the test. My thought is to purchase a book from the book store and give the practice test myself. I am only wanting my ds to take this test as a test run before he takes it in the 11th grade. What are your thoughts?
  4. We will have a rising 9th grader and a rising 7th grader. In past years we have completed our work in the same room and had little to no problems. This coming school year, it was suggested by my dh to seperate the two. His reason is that our 9th grader needs to have full concentration on his academics and not be distracted with me teaching our 7th grader. What are your thoughts? Do you seperate your children?
  5. Yes, we have completed Saxon Algebra I last year. We just feel that a complete year of Geometry will be good for us. Also our local private school requires Geometry in the ninth grade year.

Why am I second guessing myself?? There is so much to choose from and I don't want to make the wrong choice. How do you guys get thru this valley? Help clam my nerves.
  13. Yes. Once my children learned to sign their name (around the age of 5), we applied for a card. I do monitor their accounts via my computer. It was not cumbersome to hold onto their cards. It makes them proud to check out their own books.
  14. Wordsmith Apprentice is ok. She does not like the writing assignments. Pretending to be a reporter is boring. She hears the writing assignments for my son Writeshop. She wants something similar. She said the writing assignments in writeshop are more interesting. This is my second try with Wordsmith. I guess it is not a fit for my family.:glare:
  15. My dd9 hates this curriculum........:glare: Now what??? Please let me know what you are using as your writing curriculum. I really don't want to spend a lot of money.
  16. Thanks everyone. My thoughts are to use the summer as the review session so when we begin in the fall we will not have to spend time in review mode.
  17. Could someone tell me how much of saxon 6/5 is review from saxon 5/4?
  18. :iagree: with the others. A page a day worked for us, we also used the Bob Books that kind of went with the lesson of the day. I even had a collection of the Hooked on Phonics books that were also read.
