Again, thanks for these ideas! She told me she's read And Then There Were None and Sweetness, liking the former more than the latter.
She likes spy/CIA type of books so Mrs. Pollifax may interest her. A few bad words aren't as big of a deal as romantic scenes. I think Louise Penny novels might be an option, too.
Nancy Drew is too young for this class, unless I'm thinking of a different series than the traditional Nancy Drew.
Reality is that she may bring a book to her teacher, and it be rejected because we're not sure how strict she is with the mystery label.
The original ND series is too much but the new Nancy Drew, Girl Detective series might be appropriate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Drew:_Girl_Detective

What about the Nancy Drew series? They are fun to read but are not what I'd consider proper literature.

I am at a lovely bed breakfast and the poster bed is softer than dh likes. But for me it was perfect. I woke up not stiff at all and my Fitbit rated me sleep as excellent for the first time since I bought it in July.
It is strange being here w/ just dh. I lived here for 2.5 months when dh attended SOS (squadron officer school). It was the place I first homeschooled and the place I first got a correct diagnosis of my first diagnosed AI disease, Sjogren's Syndrome. In 25 years. It has changed a lot- mostly for the better.
To do
Meds, breakfast
Wetumpka crater
Ft. Toulouse/Jackson
Jasmin Hill Gardens
Sounds nice!

A child seems to have caught CV now. My local supermarket seemed to be full yesterday when I went in. What do you think will happen?

It looks like we can finally go back to our flat next week sometime! Yay hotel living is not for me. As nice as it is to be occasionally pampered, I strongly prefer some freedom and independence. Anyone else feel the same way?

- Finish off my sewing project I started yesterday.
- Pray
- Read
- Listen to a Spotify podcast
- Buy food for the family too
- Sleep
- Shower

EDPo: Analytical Grammar was a disaster! I bought the download version so I am out ~$70. Oh well. And I am annoyed my kids take like under an hour for school every day yet still complain how "hard" it is. SHEESH!
So how's everyone's day? Servie and Bookie have been quiet lately. I hope all is well. Slache not done moving yet?
We have perfect outside weather. My lawn guy came and mowed down the forest that was my yard. Payday so bills paid and we have some left over! Shocker! Good thing considering how much I spent at The Homeschool Store yesterday and will need to spend a little more, too. I need to do Costco/AFSA/Kroger shopping to fill the bare pantry/fridge lest I end up with a house full of bears! (I have brown hair so I can't be Goldilocks.) Guess I better get on it then.
We are not having any lessons until Monday now! This weekend we will do some gardening and sewing too. Tomorrow I am having a haircut as I need one badly.

What does he want to do? Ask him to help you decide. Point out you cannot please everyone no matter what but politeness is still important however. Also talk with your partner too.

I recommend making a list of questions to ask. When exactly is the appointment, like what day in July? Depending on the reason for the referral, the doctor may order tests. This is a simplified guide to what would happen at a first appointment- https://www.gosh.nhs.uk/wards-and-departments/departments/clinical-specialties/clinical-genetics-information-parents-and-visitors/about-your-clinical-genetics-appointment

I'm in my early 20s and I cannot stand tea at all. I prefer water or the occasional cup of wine at weekends seriously!

My first set of twins turn 5 in September. I'm doing a gradual start to formal(ish) schooling as they show interest. So far I plan to school year round and roll right from one grade level into the next whenever it suits them.
I planned a few subjects so I have materials available when they show interest. I don't have the spare energy to invent stuff on the fly!
Reading: All About Reading 1
Math: Math Mammoth 1
Music: Music for Little Mozarts (Piano)
Religion: read kids' bible, maybe 5-minute devotional, preschool/K curriculum from godwithusbooks.org
Handwriting: A Reason for Hsndwriting K/1 (whatever level each kid needs)
German: find cartoons
I also have a collection of short chapter books for read alouds (in addition to picture books and board books).
My biggest challenge will be the rest of the kids. I also have 3 year old twins, 16 month old twins, and probably a fourth set on the way in October.
Good luck! You sure have your hands full.

Regarding math, have you done a placement test or not? This is a good starting point for teaching math https://www.homeschoolmath.net/
Another thing that helps me is color coding our schedule. I use blue for LA, red for math, yellow for humanities, green for music, orange for art, and purple for other. If you can, buy some folders and ring binders as you will probably need them. Every year, I print off a copy of our schedule, and hang it up on the wall. You can buy some highlighters and use them to color code your schedule.

Blue for LA, red for math and so on. Oh and buy a folder, it will be so much easier that way. What about ring binders?
