I am looking for a video or short book that could give somewhat of an overview of WWII for kids ages 8-11. We will be reading Number the Stars and discussing it in depth and I wanted these kids to have some sort of idea about the war and what was going on. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Has anyone taught a literature co op class for ages 10-12? What did you use to teach it and how did you structure it?
