  1. Gabapentin and Lyrica weren't much help for my nerve pain, Tegretol (carbamazepine) was a little more helpful. Nerve blocks helped give temporary relief, and then we moved on to radiofrequency ablations. I've had ablations of my occipital nerves and right supraorbital nerve. It lasts for several months (about 10 months last time I had it done), I'm due to have the occipital nerves zapped again.
  2. We bought an LG fridge (freezer on the bottom, but large capacity) about 3 years ago. It's been problematic the entire time, I've seen the repair people more than I've seen my mother. I'm glad we bought the extended warranty. We're already looking into replacing it.
  3. This is where we get our phones, we're also on a bring-your-own-phone carrier.
  4. I wasn't working at the time and took my cats with me in the car during showings. The one time I left them home was when we were going to accept an offer and another agent requested a last-minute showing. When we returned the cat had jumped up onto the table and thrown up on the stack of information flyers we had left for prospective buyers. I'm glad we were accepting an offer already!
  5. Minecraft (creative mode) was helpful for some of my kids in really understanding area and volume.
  6. Has he thrown up recently? I ended up with broccoli lodged in my sinus cavity during a particularly forceful episode of vomiting with morning sickness.
  7. We have 7 kids. #7 was just born 2 weeks ago, I'm 42. We're not planning on anymore, but weren't exactly planning on 5, 6, or 7 either. I'd say I'm about 98% sure we're done. I'll probably be 43 by the time my fertility returns, based on my history, and I don't think I want to go through another pregnancy at 44-45.
  8. We started doing nuclear family only holidays about 12 years ago, initially due to distance after we moved cross-country. I love it, and after growing up with the holidays full of multiple stops and never waking up in my own bed it's a welcome change. We've made an exception twice in that time, visiting the ILs once for Christmas and once for Thanksgiving, and neither of those were enjoyable. 16 hour drive, sleeping on an air mattress or futon, no downtime (I'm an introvert), handling my ADHD/ODD son in an unfamiliar location while totally out of his routine... nope. We did eat out for Thanksgiving several years ago when I was heavily pregnant, just at a local diner that was open and serving Thanksgiving dinner. The kids and I enjoyed it, DH prefers to cook and eat at home. I enjoyed us not having to clean up after dinner.
  9. Of the ones I've tried, Mother Moon Pads are my favorite. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MotherMoonPads
  10. I know there were a lot of product reviews from people who received the product for free or heavily discounted in exchange for a "fair, honest review". Many products ended up with very high ratings because of this, when the regular reviews were much lower. Amazon took steps to end this practice last year, it looks like this person may be trying to get around that or continue the practice anyway. https://techcrunch.com/2016/10/03/amazon-bans-incentivized-reviews-tied-to-free-or-discounted-products/
  11. Mine ends up slightly straighter, but still fly-away and frizzy. A bit of oil over it helps, but the straightener still gets better results. This is using the straightening brush after drying my hair straight with a brush. It's fine for when I'm in a hurry (in other words, nearly every day) but if I want it to look nice and sleek then I still have to use the flat iron.
  12. All of mine were like that. #7 is 10 days old and he's the same way, right up against me all night either sleeping or nursing.
  13. Ours ranged from about $69 (2004 SUV) to $103 (2015 12 passenger van), I'm in WA.
  14. Yes. Married at 20 and divorced (my choice) at 24. Starter marriage, no joint property and no kids. Married the next one that asked too, we're coming up on our 16th anniversary. Much better choice that time around!
  15. I'm 42 and due with #7 any day now. But if in a couple months I found out I was pregnant? Probably pass out.
  16. This one has had me in tears. I saw him in concert many times in the 90s and early 2000s, I wanted to go again several years ago but put it off because I was heavily pregnant. One of my all-time favorite singers. RIP, Tom. One more time to kill the pain. :crying:
  17. I have one with the ADHD and ODD combo here too, there are many days where I feel like I'm at my wit's end. So I completely get it too. :grouphug: Mine is younger, but we're still trying to find the right combo of meds and it's... challenging, to put to mildly.
  18. We use Hake without the writing component, just my older two right now. They usually do it 4-5 days a week, and write directly in the student book. I like it, they don't complain about it, and it gets done. That's more than I can say for the other programs we tried! (FLL, GWG, Easy Grammar) No experience with R&S. I also wish Hake continued through the high school years.
  19. We just use the workbooks. When my oldest was in K (yeah, the first pancake) I had all the stuff but got over that very quickly.
  20. I started keto a little over a year ago, lost 50 lbs and felt great. I'm currently slightly higher carb for the last few weeks of this pregnancy (my my MFM and neuro were supportive of me staying keto for it, it's really helped with my migraines) and I'll be going back on keto after birth.
  21. When we started off the day with an uncontrollable meltdown at 6:30 this morning I knew it was going to be a rough one. It was, more meltdowns followed, along with an emergency call to said child's p-doc. Counting down the hours until bedtime.
  22. My 11 year old daughter will only wear one brand of boys' athletic shorts, and boys' elastic waist cargo pants. My 2.5 year old daughter only wants to wear shirts with Minecraft, Pikachu, or Star Wars on them, but luckily she has a nice set of hand-me-downs from her brothers. I hear ya on the shorts/leggings for her size, yeesh!
  23. We replaced ours in January. Our old Whirlpool broke and we replaced it with a Bosch. My advice would be to carefully look at the racks and see how your dishes will fit in. I want to love our Bosch, but with our dishes (Fiestaware) we had a lot more flexibility in how things were loaded with our old Whirlpool. I wish I had actually taken a couple dishes (just a plate/saucer and bowl) to Lowes and tested how they fit in the Bosch, I would have gone with a different option.
  24. I have a ~3 year old LG fridge (side by side doors with the freezer on the bottom) and was just coming in to NOT recommend it, but I see that's what you already have. We've had more visits from the repair team in the last 3 years than from family.
