  1. Still thinking of you Melissa and hoping Tuesday's procedure brings some answers and a clear path forward.
  2. Thinking of you Melissa- sending many positive thoughts.
  3. So sorry it's so much right now. Hope you get a break soon. Many hugs.
  4. My daughter had a very sweet pit mix who would break into the refrigerator when we were not home. He mostly would get out the cheese, and often, like @mommyoffive dog would hide it in the couch cushions. One time I came home to find he had gotten out the cheese, a pack of tortillas and a pyrex container of refried beans. I am still wondering if he was planning on making a burrito .... Sweet as he was he loved to run ( and run and run and run away). He was determined and hard to contain! As he got older (and had moved with my daughter to another house) he would still try to run away but could not go very far. My phone number was still on his tag and I met several very nice people (dog people are the best!) who called to say they thought he had been hit by a car. I would drive across town and he would be happily lying on the sidewalk (or in the street) just a few houses down from his house. He once even got a ride home in a police car. Trouble as he was I miss that guy!
  5. So sorry for your loss, and so glad you could be there with her.
  6. So sorry for your loss and grateful that her passing was peaceful.
  7. I asked my 5 year old and she said "A book that has recipes for cooking". My other children are all adults and I am sure they know as well. I am an older mom who does not cook nearly as often or as interestingly as my cookbook collection would suggest.
  8. Not sure if this is the inspiration you were looking for, but I used to really like listening to "How I Built This". I found listening to the stories of perseverance amidst setbacks on the road to success very hopeful!
  9. Agreed, it is not fun. I had it for a while and then haven't for about 20 years or so. No idea what changed! So no help but much commiseration!
  10. So sorry for your loss. She was so lucky to have your for her daughter.
  11. Warm hugs, you are in my thoughts. I feel humbled and moved by the grace, compassion and resilience you are showing as you continue on this journey.
  12. I use Do Yoga With Me. It does require registration, but there is a lot of free content. One video I do regularly on the site is Morning Slow Hatha Yoga Flow with Melissa Krieger. I am almost 60 and a teacher in a toddler SDC class. I credit it with keeping me out of pain and allowing me to do my job (and keep up with meynewly adopted 5 year old) hopefully until retirement!
  13. Wishing peace and comfort to you, your father and your family.
  14. So sorry to hear this, especially at this difficult time of year.
  15. Love the story and what a beautiful picture! Congratulations to your daughter and her husband.
  16. Modified version I guess- I love it and is one Christmas tradition I don't want to change. Books and something cozy (blanket/jammies/slippers) are the gift to be opened on Christmas Eve.
