If you feel the need to chide me for my language or attitude, go ahead but I'll ignore you. 11DS, middle child, high functioning autism, anxiety, ADD. He fights with his siblings if he doesn't get his way. He refuses to do any chores and if we force him, they are so badly done that it makes twice as much work (example-leaving his folded laundry in a pile somewhere instead of putting it away). If he does not want to do an activity, he will make sure everyone is so miserable that they don't want to do it either. So, vacations suck. Car trips suck. We never go to a family movie or eat in a restaurant that isn't top of his list. He is a terrible picky eater and makes all meals miserable. He is 110% what ruined our homeschool. He is great in regular school and teachers love him. I love him. He can be very funny. One-on-one he is great. But, in the family, he is a horror show. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I wouldn't be surprised if my kids move away someday with very few happy memories. Right at this minute, they are pissed that he isn't doing chores and I don't blame them. post edited by moderator to remove questionable language.

Yes, I know that it is better than the alternative. I was at Dollar Tree last night and a rough looking older man lost control of his bowels. I suppose he had no unders on because it was all over the floor. I have friends with parents in nursing homes and they talk about "Mom had a great day. The Boy Scouts sang to them and they got to play checkers". What?!? Strange kids singing to me is not anyone's idea of a good time. I see my in laws deal with health issues and constant pain. My MIL can't walk very far anymore. My FIL is loosing his vision and gets shots in his eyeball once a month. NOOO!! I see people here talking about helping their elders with basic tasks and my brain screams NOOOO!! I do not want my daughter in charge of my clothing and meals!!! Seriously, the idea that I'm already 40 keeps me up nights. Obviously, I can't stop getting older. How do I quit panicing about it??

I'm 100% never selling on Ebay ever again. Listed an item. It sold within minutes which I thought was odd. By the end of the day the buyer asked for a refund. Whatever. Re-listed the item. I got multiple messages from people asking me to sell it to them for less than the Buy It Now price. Ignored all those. Item sold and was paid for 2 days later. Within an hour of being paid for I got a message asking when it would ship so I hustle to the PO and ship the damn thing. Her screen name AND address are the name of a movie character, which I found odd and I even told DH that this was not going to end well. She should have gotten the item yesterday (a fertility monitor and pee sticks, unopened). I get a refund request today saying "it doesn't work right, all my other monitors say I'm ovulating and this one says I'm not so it is clearly broken". Ok, so she opened the sticks. And didn't read any of the directions (it works by showing when hormones change over time). Is there any way I can come out ok on this?? Do I have no choice but to refund this idiot? ETA:: Great. Reading through the 'return' section and it says the seller is responsible for shipping because the item is being returned because it is broken.

Child is Baptised, family never attends Mass. Child goes to Catholic school chosen by the parents so he can go to Mass (they "work too many hours" to go to Sunday Mass and think weekly school Mass is plenty). Religious ed director says the child can not receive FHC with his class which really upsets the parents. Is this correct??

I know nothing. We're in the beginning stages of planning a remodel of the very small master bath. We stayed at a hotel that had a "plastic" shower (no idea what it is made of) that looked just like tile. You could only tell it wasn't tile when you touched the fake grout. That is exactly what I want!! Down with grout!! So, anybody know what that stuff is called? And how do I find someone to install it?? I know lots of tile guys, but i don't know if I need a tile guy.

To "share the news of Jesus Christ". Gee, thanks 15yo!! This is the Bible Belt but I've somehow missed this Jesus you speak of 🙄. Why do churches do this?? It is annnoying. And I imagine the percentage of people who join a church based on a visit by a teen is pretty small. Sending the teens to help at the homeless center or any of the other 100 worthwhile organizations would be a much better use of their time and a much better witness.

I really dislike MLM. I think they generally prey on people desperate to make money and encourage women to view friends and family as customers. But I like the idea of selling something you are passionate about in your spare time. I love organizing and I'd happily sell organzational products but I'm not interested in being a downline, finding recruits, meeting quotas, etc. That's all. Just drinking coffee and contemplating my future and you guys are the only ones I can talk to at the moment.
