  1. Congratulations!!! Although it will kill us...we will try hard to be patient until you return from your Babymoon :)
  2. I am so jealous of all you East coasters right now. Susan, should you ever come to the West coast I would *love* to have a meet up. :) Blessings,
  3. Well I have my one "mercy" friend too ;) Thanks Siloam! My problem is that I am a regular, long time lurker who rarely posts. So while I feel I "know" many of you.....none of you would know me from a hill of beans. I know I will get the "well just post more" answer and I usually have really good intentions to do so..but life gets in the way. I don't know how all of you find the time to post, I just struggle to get school done before 4pm many days.:001_huh: Wow...just read over my post and it sure reads like a big ole whine..:001_smile: no whining.....just be nice to those of us who you don't know well that might "request" your friendship. :) Blessings,
  4. Yes, I had this with my first pregnancy. I wish I could tell you that it will go away, but as others have posted only the blessing of birth will do it. Like Jeanne, I had a *BIG* problem with mobility and could barely walk towards the end (my dr. offered me a handicap plaque to put on my rear view window but I was fairly homebound by then). Regarding pain....It was by far my least painful (per my perception at the time) labor as well. I pray these last 6 weeks fly by for you. Blessings,
  5. The stylist I go to is in Corona Del Mar (off PCH). I have been going to her for over 15 years and highly recommend her. She has colored and permed my thick, straight hair many times. She is pricey, but well worth it. I would be happy to give your her info, just pm me. Blessings,
  6. When I called in with my payment information for my pre-order for Wkbk2, I was told they really hoped to ship it the first week of September, but as of that time(Monday) it was not concrete. The PHP lady did say it would ship the 2nd week of Sept. at the latest. HTH,
  7. I was wondering the same thing. I loved using her SOTW-1 plan last year. I sure hope you get an answer. Blessings,
  8. We start tommorrow as well. I have worked *really* hard this time on getting organized *beforehand*. I have accomplished that, however I have to say that I am not *MENTALLY* ready at all. I have really enjoyed the freedom and relaxation of summer. Back to the grind in the morning :) Blessings,
  9. I am on the preorder list for this book. I have yet to receive an email asking for payment. When will this book be available for shipping? I start school Monday and am trying to figure out when I can start this with my ds. Thanks,
  10.:hurray: Deanna, THANK You! This is perfect and makes total sense to me. I printed out your 5 week schedule from you blog to get me going. I like the idea of creating tests for Fridays so that, in essence, Latin is done on a 4 day/week schedule which works better for us. Blessings,
  11. Christina, Did you end up finishing in "36 wks", or did the extra practice really add time? Blessings, Trishe
  12. Thank You Lana & Christina, this is helpful? Anyone else? Blessings, Trishe
  13. I'm getting ready to start my ds (3rd grade) next week with Latin For Children, Primer A. I have the DVD's, books and such and plan to use them (DVD)for the bulk of teaching. I would love to see how others have scheduled this out. Did you do 4 days or 5? What did you do (specifically) on each day? I am a "whole to parts" kind of gal, and I am just trying to wrap my brain around how to teach this. Thanks!
  14. :001_huh: Uh Oh....I've noticed these same issues with my ds and he's not even 9 yet! He will have times where he cries at the drop of a hat...and Yes, he has pimples! Yikes :scared: Blessings,
  15. Natalie, I am in the same exact boat as you. FLL worked well overall with my ds and I had planned to move onto FLL3 &4. But now, I am wondering whether or not it is better to move to R&S *now* instead of waiting until 5th grade after doing FLL levels 3&4. Blessings,
  16. Yep, that was a mover :) We were at swimming lessons. My ds8 and dd6 were in the pool, but hanging onto the edge listening to instructions when it hit. I was sitting on the benches with my 3yr old when I heard the building "creak". I thought (you know how sometimes your train of thought seems to go in slowmo)...."wow...that's the type of creak a building makes when there is an earthquake"....when the first jolt hit :001_smile: Having lived in California all my adult life (and having lived through way too many earthquakes), I just stood there watching the pool area (the roof is tall since it's inside a Bally's Gym). I already knew were the emergency exit was (10 ft to my right), and was watching the 2nd story part of the gym through a window of glass. There were people still working out on the equipment during the quake who didn't even bother to stop :tongue_smilie: After the jolt...and loooong roll, the manager comes running in calling for a *mandatory* evacuation of the building. While I was wrapping up my kids in their towels, another man had to put his hand in the water to stop a guy who was doing some serious laps....he was dumbstuck when we told him what had happened...said he didn't feel a thing. So, being the homeschool family that we are, when we got home we pulled out our CKE Earth and Space book and read the lesson on Earthquakes :D Blessings,
  17. Hey! What a great day for a birthday! It's my ds's 9th :) too bad it's *this* september because we are tentatively planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains next September/October (ish). Blessings,
  18. We just had thier Swedish meatballs with gravy for dinner last night :) Blessings,
  19. I just stayed at the Westin last weekend during our homeschool conference, and Yes, I have to agree the bed was *wonderful* :) Blessings,
  20. Another enthusiastic  here. We stayed through the credits as well, my ds got a kick out of the ending "art" as well. He thought it was a cross between hieroglyphics and Monet. Blessings,
  21. HLM, Thanks for the "heads-up" on that. I will probably move onto R&S as well when we get to that point. Blessings,
  22. I must have missed this .....where did you find this information? Blessings,
  23. Thanks for the replies. This was the information I was looking for. I will see how he does with his spelling and the additional (physical) writing and go from there. If it's just too much for him I will take OhElizabeth's advice and use it to lessen his writing load. Thanks!
