  1. Oh, I believe you. I’ve just never heard it. 🙂
  2. Interesting. I have never heard the T pronounced in American English, so that might be it. Or maybe he learned the word in (modern) France. 😉
  3. This thread has convinced me to weight nothing. 😂 They’ll get the grades, they’ll get where the classes were taken, they can figure it out themselves!
  4. What Farrar said. Norms are changing. IMO this is a good thing, just in the US there are some growing pains because traditionally it is such a repressed country in terms of sexuality. Once it gets over the hump (ew, bad unintended pun) I think things will improve. There seems still to be a lot of angst involved in sexual relationships. This is not the case, generally speaking, in more liberal societies and I think those societies are the better for it.
  5. Somewhat related… Do I weight a class differently according to where it is taken? So, say one class is taken at a community college and one class is taken at Duke. Are they both given the same amount of weight or do I weight Duke more because it is more rigorous? Or the same and let the admissions people figure it out?
  6. Google Piet Oudolf and new naturalism for plants. I just did and there is a YouTube talk called "A Piet Oudolf Story" from the JC Raulston Arboretum by someone who built a backyard garden from scratch. I also like Noel Kingsbury’s books. If you are on Facebook, there is Garden Design by Carolyn Mullet, which features photos of beautiful gardens throughout the world. Take out stacks of books and magazines from the library and visit arboretums and public gardens to see what you like and can incorporate into your own space. ETA I’d also recommend reading some Doug Tallamy before doing anything. Here’s a starter article: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/meet-ecologist-who-wants-unleash-wild-backyard-180974372/
  7. @mlktwins You’ve gotten some great suggestions and healthy eating and exercise are important for everyone. I just wanted to point out that if your husband has a genetic predisposition for high cholesterol, he’ll probably need to continue statins along with his healthier eating. Even super fit healthy vegetarians can have high cholesterol.

Like one that doesn’t sound like something Elon Musk would name a child?

Ha! That’s what I thought when I watched the NSF video, at the end. 😂

What?! Not everyone in the entire world and particularly on this forum is talking about it? You guys!!! https://news.mit.edu/2022/first-supermassive-black-hole-sagitarrius-0512 link to the NSF movie at the bottom. So cool!
  11. You mean you wouldn’t file a complaint with the state? I figured that was civic duty, to help to ensure that there isn’t a pattern of mistakes at this particular pharmacy.
  12. They should learn to moderate their response. 😆 When I called to explain what happened the person to whom I spoke replied “Oh, NOOOOOO!” They assure me that my Rx didn’t leave the store so no one else has my info and that no, this doesn’t happen often. They’ll fill out a report and I will be contacted at a later date (I requested this to make sure that they follow through). And to bring in the other person’s Rx to be disposed of. I will also file a complaint with the state.
  13. No, I do not. The reason I considered contacting her was to let her know that there had been a breach of privacy.
  14. Thank you. Yes, the other person’s prescription reveals a lot of info so she could be embarrassed. I just hate the idea that the pharmacy might sweep it under the rug. I agree that it is a serious breach. I miss my wonderful little independent pharmacy.
  15. I’ve had them mix up my own Rx before, but I have never ever received someone else’s in my bag. You have? Crazy. Maybe it’s common then.
  16. Any pharmacists who can weigh in? I picked up a prescription, the bag had my name and the name of my prescription on it. When I got home and opened it, it was a Rx for another medicine for another person. The pharmacy was already closed by the time I discovered this. I’ll go in tomorrow. I assume that legally they’re obligated to contact the person whose Rx (and information) I have. Should I contact her to let her know this happened in case they don’t? I would want to know. In fact, I wonder if someone else has my information, since my Rx probably went to someone else… Is this common? I’ve never heard of it. It seems like such a huge screw up!!
  17. Silly, we already know it’s either Calvin or Hobbes! 😉
  18. I believe we need an origin story…
  19. I thought studies showed that co-sleeping helped regulate baby’s breathing.
  20. Mother’s Day can be difficult and triggering for the motherless, however you’ve arrived there. It can be hurtful when it seems that everyone has forgotten about your existence because they’re so busy celebrating. So just wanted to say that people are thinking about you, and hope that the day isn’t too painful or sad. 💗
  21. D’oh. Indeed you did. I am *literally* dying of embarrassment because of my poor reading comprehension skills now. 😂 💀 😜
  22. @Carrie12345 My phone often changes when to whenever, no idea why. Have you heard anyone say it or just read it? Maybe it’s not a thing. Maybe the phones are trying to change language patterns. 🤖 🤖 🤖
  23. Not specific to grads, but I like cloth bunting. It’s festive and can be used for any occasion, so infinitely reusable. I’m sure you could find some on etsy.
  24. I agree with everyone else that you should not make a cake with nuts at an event attended by a relative with a nut allergy. It’s unkind. What is the cake you wanted to make? I’d be happy to help you figure out another similar cake. Is it a dacquoise? Is it covered in marzipan? For the first you can just use meringue without nuts. For the second you can use a rolled fondant. Again, happy to help you with suggestions for a safe cake.
