  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who asks for homeschool supplies for Christmas! My husband thinks I'm nuts. Not only that, but my mom sends me money for Christmas every year. I always spend most of it on books! This year I want the Kingfisher History Encyclopedia and All Through The Ages Guide, as well as a whole slew of historical fiction books for the middle ages which we will be studying next year.
  2. I'm a Creationist (was on the fence recently) who just this year taught my dd evolution, creationism, and theistic evolution. I want her to be able to determine which view is right for her. Just because I'm a Creationist doesn't mean she will be. As long as she (or anyone) believes in the core Christian tenants, then in my book, that person is a Christian.
  3. New to this forum: I'm both a curriculum junkie and advanced planner. This year for history we are using MOH I (Ancients) through their Illuminations program. My dd (4th grade) seems to like it, but I feel it's not "beefy" enough and moves too quickly. The only complaint from my dd is that she would like to stop and "investigate" topics more thoroughly. That being said, we have changed the pace and will work through the book year-round so she can "investigate" and also so we can get everything in. She's fine with working through next summer. So, all that being said, I was thinking that for next year (5th grade) I should do History Revealed: RRR instead of MOH 2. Waring's program seems to spend a bit more time in each time period. I also plan to get the Famous Men of the Middle Ages set from Memoria Press to add some "beef". Have any of you done something similar or have any other suggestions? Thanks.
